Does this mean the tax will go up now to fix all the pointless rioters repairs? - So basically they are stealing and getting free things and everyone else has to suffer?

Yup but these are the kind of muppets who don't pay tax and we are no doubt already paying for their benefits while they do nothing but expect everything on a plate for free.

...Line a few up and shoot them...but we can't do that 'cos it wrong so instead they are left to get away with it.

Jesus christ, Theresa May is useless. Eamon Holmes says there is no deterrent to make me these kids stop goading the police and asks her if she'll bring the army in, and all she does is side step the army question, talk tough, and say that arrests are being made. That the police and the communities should work together. So, no army.

She has a meeting with the Prime Minister and COBRA in an hour or so, it may be disappointing to watch but she's certainly not to going to make any commitments on tv before that meeting taking place is she.

"Panic on the streets of London
Panic on the streets of Birmingham
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again?..."

Bunch of <expletive> morons. Why aren't the police in there cracking skulls?

So, according to Theresa May (actually Theresa Won't) water cannons are not the way we stop violence on the streets. Yes, that's right, the way we stop violence on the streets is by... doing nothing useful at all.

I hope this is the end of it now, probably not much left to loot in the areas that have been affected by this so far.

But I don't think the youths are really being put off by how soft the police are being, not exactly a deterrent to them is it?

Charlton superstore's emptied out, it's amazing down the street are loads of empty opened cardboard boxes of 43" TVs, apple gear, Kindles etc

I'm shocked it's happened down here

Crazy that. They burned wetherspoons in woolwich too.

I went pasted there with a bus on my way to the cinema yesterday (all was fine) and by the time we got out we checked our phones to see texts about all this, then found out buses had been diverted. While watching the movie charlton/woolwich was getting looted :/

The news this morning said that people are driving around in cars telling the mobs what to do next. Have we now got the scumbag anarchists involved on this?

Why is everyone in here certainly a public order expert who absolutely knows better than the authorities because of the view they had from the Sky News chopper in the comfort of the living room?

Im actually embrassed just watching it, mixed with absolute fury. Th efact that 98% of them doing it are under 20 from what you can see on the tv, and yep most are the typical jobless who think they deserve a free ride in life. The police just cant cope and it should not go on a second longer, their terrified of them purely because the slightest thing they do will be scrutinised in the media for weeks so its likely easier to just be nice and civil and ask the scum doing this to stop instead of blastign them down the guter with a water cannon. But of course its the UK we cant possibly treat violence and looting witht he appropriate reponse can we.

Like who? Everyone is a bit broad, does that now include you?

Bad things happen when armies take to the streets! The police should be able to cope on their own, to be honest. It's alarming to think how poorly they've performed (the guys giving the orders, anyway - I'm sure the ordinary bobby has worked damn hard for three nights under scary conditions) against a bunch of thugs organised over social media sites. I hate to think what would happen if something more major happened.
