Well i figure this is pretty much the same rioting we get in norn iron when our little scummers on either side take it in turns to riot.
Main difference is ours don't loot as much and tend to directly attack the police instead.

Institute curfew, and then disperse them with automatic gunfire, then wait for the civil suits and human rights zealots to start shouting. Society would be a better place without them, last night, a third night, there was no one in the groups on the streets protesting at the death of a man in a shooting. They were all there for a riot and to loot. Just start shooting.

Police take a while to get to the areas, wheres asim? He could get some well minded citizens some mac10s and they could massacre the rioters before the police arrive.

Plenty of cheap stuff on ebay over the next few weeks from certain areas no doubt.

They really can’t though. Many have already worked over 20 hours solid with no break and they are massively out numbered in certain areas. The kids are running distraction sorties, setting fire to stuff at one end of a street to draw the police down then looting the other and setting more fire.

Its also far more organised than we probably know. Witnesses on the radio have said they are using whistles to call people (looting) out of the shops and that every now and then vans and cars are pulling up and being loaded up with stuff by the people on the street, some of which they say look as young as 12 -15.

How do you expect the police to deal with that ? Would you want to wade into massive groups of potentially armed individuals that vastly outnumber you ?

You're making my point for me. Respect to the police, but this is the exact reason they need to bring the army in and shut these thugs down.

The problem is that most of the rioters most proberely don't give too hoots about the police shooting and just wanted an excuse to steal, do criminal damage and general be *******.

Impose marshall law - get out the rubber bullets/tear gas and water cannons - soon ended!!! It's pathetic to watch a load of scum who think they are above the law and basically go around wrecking businesses and houses etc without any repercussions. Police are not helped by lack of trained officers and a very poorly organised response!!

The problem with bringing the army onto the streets is you run the risk of turning mindless thuggery into a political situation.

Even during the height of trouble here over the summer, with police and public coming under fire from dissidents and loyalists, they will/did not bring the army back out onto the streets.

The army on the streets of the capital? When was the last time that happened? Imagine the field day the press and the opposition would have, it's a shame that governments are shackled so much in that respect, stopping them from doing what needs to be done. (Oh, I don't think the army should be brought in, but I would welcome more aggressive tactics from the police, or at least a proper explanation of why they can't).

Wow, just saw a clip from hackney yesterday I hadn't seen before. Police with shields and batons goaded by a youth, then you see the police whack the scum right in the face with the baton and an audible thump, it was brilliant. He got up still goading, but he was hurt, lol.

As much as i would love to see the army come in, or the police be given permission to use more force, i reckon that if any form of rubber bullets / tear gas / brute force is used, then the rioters are going to retaliate. Trying to not be stereotypical, but im sure the type of people who doing all the rioting could get hold of some illegal weapons and then the whole thing is going to get more out of hand.

I honestly wouldnt like to be in charge of making any decision about this, id love to see every single one of them have their knee caps blown out, but know this is never going to be the case...but soon groups of idiots in every city are going to realise that they can get away with mindless violence and stealing as the police do not havethe man power or permission to stop them.
