I understand that it's the situation that has bred this kind of behaviour, but it's inexcusable - whether they're angry at the police or the government, it's gone so far that they are genuinely destroying the lives of innocent citizens.

These people have no morales, no fear, and to them it's just a game. The problem is the police currently don't have the manpower or the cellspace to arrest every single one of them, which is no less than any of them deserve. A mask and a hood shouldn't protect you - if you are out in these crowds rioting, you should be considered an accomplice and charged with the most serious crimes the mob have committed. Currently it doesn't seem like the police are giving the rioters enough incentive to stop and go home.

What's upsetting for some of these shop owners' is most basic commercial/business insurance will not cover riotting and civil unrest. what happens then? Shop owner on JSA with knock on affect to whole society/economy...

My proposed solution:

• Due to the fundamental disregard for the rights and responsibilities of society by the rioters, they have forfeited any right to the protection provided by society.
• Make a public announcment, and keep repeating it, that anyone out looting tonight will be shot.
• Announce that anyone identified as being involved in the riots, and their immediate family, will lose all state financial support for 12 months.
• Anyone identified as being involved in the riots and currently housed in local authority housing will be evicted, and the property given to families made homeless during the looting

I wonder how many would still be out tonight? I'm not normally one to call for draconian measures, but the scum that we have seen on the streets the last 3 nights deserve no less.

I'm also amused that most of the rioters are far too young to be a product of previous Tory governments, but are clearly a product of the labour pandering culture, clearly showing that sure start, EMA and the like are complete failures, all we have done is bred an entitlement culture with no sense of responsibility.

That's an interesting point. If you look at the ages of the scum they all grew up/were educated during Labour's twelve years of power...

I suspect there will be.

The looting/arson is spreading rapidly, and with no semblance of Police control, the gangs are out doing whatever they want, with no repercussions.

Few cans and a sleep during the day, get skunked up and then out for another night of thieving.
