I'm usually quite liberal in my views and I've read a fair bit about about these riots from regular news source (The Guardian).

To put the behaviour of these mindless animals down to "dey closed our youf centre init!" or other similar cuts is absolute ********. These are the scum of this country who are having the opportunity to act like the true animals they are. At the moment this is a game for them as someone just commented.

I now remember the reason I don't post in GD, I'm following this on several forums, 99.9% of people are normal people, but a few are being racist and obviously banned instantly. What on earth is wrong with this forum and it's moderator's allowing dirtydog to be so brazenly racist without an enormous ban? It's inexplicable and enormously disappointing. The problem is we now have generations of chavs bringing up chavs.

What we need is proper tough discipline. And I mean bloody tough. Fear is the key. And the kids simply do not fear the police/law.

The problem is very simple. It all starts at a very young age at school. A big part of it is with the teachers, they have their hands tied as they can't do anything. Years ago if you stepped out of line you got a bloody good hiding (i.e the cane). I'm too young to remember it but my parents told me what it was like and it worked. You have to earn respect. I bet loads of people have heard about when old people talk about the good old days like when a policeman would give you a 'clip round the ear' if you was naughty as a kid. The thing was there was respect back then.

The nicely, nicely approach does not work. Fact.

The whole justice system needs a massive wake up. Bring back capital punishment as well.

Things will only get worst otherwise.

Id imagine restraint of the mods is actually quite appealing, considering the dictatorship way of forums, its a welcome thing.

Obviously some should just be dealt with if they continue their rampage of slurs.

This is nothing to do with race, it's to do with poverty and upbringing. We can pontificate about this til the cows come home, but need to restore some order on our streets first. There are reasons that a large proportion of the looters are black, and it has everything to do with poverty, marginalisation and life opportunities. The odds are stacked against black people in this country, especially when they are born into a poor area - more so than for poor underclass whites. There are good, decent black people that have struggled against the racism in our society and they are quite capable of bringing up kids that aren't gangsters.

Priority 1 is stop this carp happening.
Priority 2 is understand why it happened and try to make our society a place that it won't happen again.
