I've had some trouble with the HR strap not pairing with my Forerunner 310XT in the past week. Even after changing the battery last night, the FR still wouldn't see it.

I've just rung Garmin for some help and after checking I'd tried a new battery, the guy on the phone said he would send me a new strap out. No need to prove when I purchased it or any questions about a warranty period, which is very good as I reckon it's just over a year old.

Its good to hear this, but i dont understand why more companies dont follow Garmin's example.
The cost of replacing your strap is likely very small and i suspect that it works out at a much higer value for money when compared to their marketing budget.

If you damage the unit though, it costs. I cracked the glass on my 310xt and they charged £100 + vat to replace the whole unit with a refurb. It's a flat fee for any damage or failure of the main unit regardless of fault.

Fair play to them though, it took 48 hours from me posting mine back to be receiving the replacement from them.

A premium HR strap is nearly £40 retail - I wonder how much they pay for them...

Had a problem with my 705, logged an issue, was sent an RMA#, sent device, 2 days later a new device was delivered. It was so speedy that when i didn't have a clue what it was when i saw the missed delivery note
