Still don't care about Marc Duggan.

Trident officers aren't trying to stop you for no reason, he's certainly involved in some nasty stuff. If you disobey or do anything dodgy around armed police you may get shot.

As far as I'm concerned, if he even had that illegal firearm at any point there can be no complaints over what happened.

That doesn't matter, he still had a gun. There is no need to have a gun. He got what he deserved.

I've disagreed with a lot Robbo has said in this thread, but I totally agree with this.
It isn't ever right for a member of the public to be walking around the street with a concealed handgun.

Croydon again? There isn't anything left for them there surely?

Apparently the word was they are aiming to attack anything that wasn't done last night, including spreading south through south croydon, purley, and coulsdon. Even some talk of Redhill.

Maybe, but this doesn't bode well for the police. This will probably be used as an excuse for whatever may happen today.

I think that case is only of any relevance to the initial trouble in Tottenham, anything else is just thugs looting and rioting for the sake of not for any true grievance but simply because they can and think they'll get away with it.

Just got back from work & they were already boarding up windows in some of the shops in Bristol centre, including the big Debenhams store.

You leave my campaign for rubber bullets and tear gas out of this :p

"No evidence that Mark Duggan opened fire before he was shot dead"

He wasn't shot in the face either. It was those rumours that fuelled the initial Tottenham riot.

Darcus Howe, the life long aplologist for the black community, was still saying the above a couple of hours ago.

The police were slow off the mark in getting the facts out.

So how come this is England only, not Northern Ireland (where it's our national pastime), Scotland and Wales?

I'm almost surprised that it hasn't kicked off a bit in Glasgow. A 16 year old was arrested earlier on for trying to organise a riot over Facebook. Let's hope it stays down South and ends soon!

Though, they wouldn't start in Edinburgh. They shoot their cannon off every day to remind the Proles who's in charge.
