Not as exciting as my previous upload I'm afraid but I thought this might "educate" a few that were hard of thinking about how you should be treating cyclists that you come across on the highways.

No editing required here at all.
First the good driver, approaches from behind, waits for the two cars to pass, then pulls out to overtake leaving plenty of room for the cyclist.

Within seconds along comes Mr Tard in his Tard mobile, he is presented with the exact same scenario as the first guy, but instead of waiting ooh 4 seconds to pass safely, he just barges through anyway..

It's not in anyway a "gem" of a video like the last one, but does highlight the distinct differences between drivers abilities and decisions as to what they perceive as an appropriate move

I was in a more sarcastic mood this morning so I can safely leave the sound file intact this time. :D

As for what looks like a Renault Scenic overtaking on a bend when there's a car coming, I'll let you make up your own mind on that one. :D

It's been a few years since I passed my test now, but when taught to drive I was always told to try and leave a cars width between myself and cyclists when overtaking

Anyone else taught this? :o

No, I was taught to leave the same room I would leave a car, which is about 1.5-2 m.

You're sitting too far left on the lane if you keep getting cars squeezing past you tbh.

I am cycling pretty much smack bang in the middle of the "groove" of where a cars left tyre usually is..

I tried drawing a line from a screen grab but perspective is making it difficult to place.

Looking at the videos I think it's due to the camera mount pointing slightly left which is making me look further over to the left than I actually am.

You should be smack bang in the middle of the lane.

:D

This may show better how much room some of these cretins are actually giving me.

Black line is where I'm sticking my front wheel. :D

OP: What kind of batty boy has a video camera on his push bike?

I just don't understand why. I drive a car and don't have a camera installed for when a cyclist jumps a red light and nearly hits me.

Arguably the driver who can squeeze through the gap has better awareness of how much space he is using. If he doesn't hit you or force you (or another vehicle) to change course, what's the problem?

What would happen if the cyclist had to or mistakenly swerve whilst the car is passing with all of no space to swerve into though?

Don't get me wrong I hate cyclists but I do leave as much room as I can when I overtake :).
