Excellent point. Even the prison sentances are not those which will deter. I hope they make an example of these guys like they did with the bradford rioters many years ago.

Not to harp on yet again but, when Labour was spending through the roof like psychotic idiots, they were closing prisons, letting people out early and point blank refusing to build new prisons because that would be admitting crime was up and criminals needing to be behind bars are up.

This is not Cameron's fault, these prisons needed to be STARTED 5-10 years ago, we need several huge prisons, we need cheaper larger numbers in a room worse condition and cheaper prisons and they needed to be finished long ago with people getting real sentences, not ones directed in length by how many people are in our too fee prisons.

even with cuts, I think hell, it SHOULD be cheaper to keep people in large cells in prison on crap food, then on benefits, and if we can get essentially chain gangs working, there has to be something we can get them to do that saves us money by doing a job others won't do. We need to build prisons because rather than people doing the jail terms they deserve, which will help put off their kids, parents are getting out of jail with fewer consequences, onto increased benefits and teaching their kids to be bad.

As for teaching, the single most important factor in learning and education, is willingness to learn, not your school, not your teachers, not the area you are from or your friends. Parents have a HUGE effect on this, parents that don't let their kids roam the streets but have them do their homework, learn, and encourage them to read and educate themselves will learn more than a school can ever instill on a kid whose parents tell them school is worthless.

Teaching itself has gone downhill, it really is so simple, its centuries old advice in parenting, kids acting out do so for attention, give them attention you are teaching them to act out. Ignore them, and they'll stop, its really that simple, so what do schools do now with "troubled" kids, then give them WAY more attention than the good kids, so even the good kids see no reason in working hard, good kids, hard working kids are ignored and troubled kids are given extra attention. This is the exact opposite of what schools should be doing, and USED to do, which USED to work.

God damn labour have screwed everything, ruined every single public service, while also massively overspending, and left conservatives to make cut backs while also requiring radical changes to basically every service.

People will get bored, vote Labour in and they'll **** us over again.

police helecopter just flown over my house heading towards manchester, im in the boonies and a good 22 miles away from manchester so im guessing its from preston/blackburn area.

Do you think blame can reasonably be attached to an eleven year old?

The whole education system is a complete mess. The basic problem is that education is only possible with the co-operation of the students and parents and an increasingly large proportion of parents have lost all respect for teachers.

No the problem is the parents and the kids, I went to a poor schold, but i studied hard, i went home, my dad sat me on the table and made me do extra work. no dinner until i finished my studying, i go my grades, i went to uni (however did not finsih uni, decided to drop out and do some cisco and microsoft cousres, and then finish my degree later in life). I have had and still have a fantastic IT career.

These parents do nothing with their kids when they come home from school, they are happy for them to stay stuck in front of the TV or playstation, they do nothing with their children, they do not talk about their studies and they do not ask them about their home work, they do nothing with their kids. there is no discipline in the home.

Im not sure, but there seems to be a good few people moving there, considering the house prices there, they are obviously finding the sacrifice worth it.

But this is irrelevant to the topic frankly.

That was a question related to an earlier post that caused a little confusion.

It's of no matter now, so no need to have raised the subject again.
