Riots in Tottenham, London! (NO RACIST COMMENTS)

I think we have small percentage of a generation of kids that we just need to write-off as completely useless. We shouldn't be wasting our time at the moment trying to change the scum we've already produced.

We need to be hard on kids and parents from now on to prevent new scum developing, so that future generations of kids have the respect for authority that these clearly lack.

If we make the act of being scum completely unacceptable by villifiying and punishing those who behave in this way, then we will produce less.
Eventually our existing scum will drop off like a manky gangrenous finger as they drink themsleves into an early grave. There's plenty of adult scum to write of too, but thankfully they're closer to being dead than their kids.

Put it this way: If my toilet is overflowing with excrement and it's going all over my nice carpet, I don't waste my time trying to make the **** that's already come out smell nice. I put all my efforts into stopping the torrent of ****, so that I don't get any more and it doesn't start to go all over me. Only then do I start to clean up the **** that's already come out.

Nice analogy ;)

Considering theres better/more/clearer footage from peoples phone camera's than there is from CCTV, that rather makes CCTV pointless. We don't want to be watched ALL the time, when rioting is going on, get camera's out there, thats not a new thing, that happened in previous riots without CCTV.

Maybe one of the reasons we have less cops on the street is Labour decided to police through the absolute and scary presence of, CCTV. If there were less camera's, which people forget are there, and more cops on the streets, would this have happened, would there have been a more visible police force in the street, with more people knowing who they are and police having more information?

CCTV's aren't good and despite all the CCTV footage, the MET seemed to not notice how badly it was getting out of control very quickly, nor where the trouble was.

I think though that we now just live in a society where people have to just video everything, whether it's for themselves or to share on social networks. Just look at gigs now, it's just a sea of phones being held in the air recording.

I think what has changed though within society, whether through fear or worry of getting into trouble yourself is people fighting back. I can't imagine the people of Britain decades ago would have just stood watching while people ransacked their towns.

Problem is that it took 3 nights to get those extra boots. I was only advocating bringing the army in as since the first night it bacame apparant that the police did not have enough numbers and for whatever reason were unable to supply enough.

Then last night they did and pretty much nothing happened (in London). So if they could have done that earlier, why didn't they?

Secondly, how many nights can the Polica put that many numbers out in London now that other cities it's only just started kicking off?

It would also take time to get soldiers onto the street. Also, they'd need pretty specific briefing and quite detailed explanation of what they were permitted to do. The army by and large aren't trained for these sorts of things whereas the police are, or at the very least have a better realisation of what they can and can not do.
Also, the riots quickly changed from being a localised thing in Tottenham to being widespread throughout London and then eventually England. There wasn't the belief that this would happen as it's unseen. Deploying the army quickly could have easily been seen as inflammatory and wrong.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of scenario.

the problem with this analogy is that in this case the **** can breed making more ****. All these little scrotes will probably have alco pop fuelled kiddies conceived in parks and playgrounds long before their equivalent age contemporaries make their babies in a measured way during their mid 30s. They will bring them up with the same disregard their parents applied. Rinse and repeat.

People now will be even more anti-youths and this will bring a bigger divide between certain ethnic groups.

They have no excuse full stop. As for most of these people being on poverty, what a load of carp!! You see them with Blackberry/Apple phones, decent trainers and always a packet of cigarettes.

Many many years ago people didn't have the benefits they have these days, they had to work 2 or 3 jobs a week to live and provide for their families.

Finally. Something that makes sense! :D
