They would only have been ideal on Saturday night unfortunately. That's when they should have shown up, but with their need for 24hours notice, it couldn't happen.

This incident was embarrassing for us, they didn't need more police, the police needed to be more assertive/aggressive, I heard countless times from people that the police would just stand there while shops were being looted, wtf seriously?, why were they being so soft on these criminals?

Because all of the pansies come out of the woodwork and demand we "understand" them first etc. Give them a good battering!

They asked some top police bloke about this on the radio this morning. The only situation where that happened was when 3 or 4 police were facing 60-70 looters. They had called for backup and were waiting for them to arrive. Not much else they could have done against those numbers.
