Absolute twaddle. There are jobs, the only thing is people aren't willing to do them because they feel "above" them

No, there aren't, theres literally MILLIONS of unemployed people on top of hundreds of thousand to millions more basically made up public sector jobs which were created to save more people being officially unemployed.

Theres plenty of crap jobs out there, there isn't even close, not even ballpark enough jobs for every single last person of working age to be working, no where near.

Never understood the need for the EMA personally. Why would you need paying as an incentive to better yourself through your free education? Isn't that in itself incentive enough.

Edit: I'm being silly aren't I? I'm attributing the people who spout the EMA cut as a reason for them to riot more braincells than teeth.

One council said anyone convicted will lose their council tenancy.

So then they are declared homeless and re-housed by the council.

Brilliant.

a universoty degree does not guarantee you a proper job these days, i know people with phd's working as cashiers and i am not kidding you nor is it something rare...

I know someone with a masters in electronic engineering working as a cashier =P i think his got a decent job in a few weeks though.

Because for people from poor backgrounds, there is pressure on them to go out to work to get money now to ease the burden on the parents rather than stay in education. Sheesh, I swear some people on here have never actually met a poor person.

BTW, the benefits of EMA outweigh the costs: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-11998992

Yep. When I went to College in 2000 we were the first year it was available to. Most people who got it spent it on beer mostly, irrespective of background.

Oh, and being part of the Bourgeoisie apparently, Watercress and Cucumber sandwiches. Even though I never applied since I wouldn't qualify, what, with my parents not being separated and both having jobs and all.

Generally if you are homeless the council will re-house you. They wouldn't be sleeping on the street

But the council has chucked you out for being a cretin.

You can only give someone so many chances in life before it's time to cut your losses and move on, you can't act like a total tool all your life then expect people to keep handing out free stuff, act civil or you will be on the street, do that to a few people and the rest will soon learn.

Just a little gripe, why does the media refer to Water Cannon? Is there only one in the entire world? And if so, shouldn't they refer to The Water Cannon?

Edit: I fail at English, the plural of Cannon is Cannon.

I was a poor person. Council estate in newcastle, and I worked hard to get qualifications so that I didn't stay one. I had no EMA, I did on the other hand have jobs to earn money while I was educated for free.

Get of your high horse and realise that if you give people enough to live comfortably, then they have no need for betterment. Now if you scale back benefits, but don't remove them when people work, then you're opening the door to progression. Half the battle is getting people into a work routine - things change when you have a purpose.

your right, **** it, lets just shoot them.

Simple yet effective eh :D

These types of people are of no use to anyone they acted like animals so cull them like animals! Extreme... but I bet they would have thought twice before stepping outside to cause millions of pounds worth of damage.

Harsher punishments would scare a lot of the opportunists away I reckon.
