I'm only 27 but you know when you watch really old films, and you see how it was back in the 1920's or 1950's or whatever....it seemed like kids and most of society in UK anyway was a lot more responsable and a lot more better behaved back then.

Thats the way society is portrayed in the films but I think its true from what people tell me...grandparents and even my parents about how they wouldnt dare miss behave with their parents or teachers and wouldnt dare roam the steets causing trouble like kids today.

It feels like something has gone wrong, I cant quite put my finger on it and maybe this doesnt make sense, but I've been thinking maybe what has changed and what is causing us problems now is the fact that people are given too much freedom, too much choice, and no direction.

And as each generation gets more and more relaxed, its like had a spiral effect, or a domino effect because as each new generation is born they just do what they see, or what their parents have taught them.

So its like every generation gets worse and worse, not everybody, but a certain percentage dont bring up their kids with respect so then those kids dont bring up their kids with respect and it just keeps on going.

Because trying to explain to a chav why rioting is wrong, or selling drugs or voilence is wrong, its almost like talking to a brick wall...how do you get through to people like that and make them change.

I hope I've explained this clearly as I was finding it hard to put what I meant into words.

EDIT: Maybe we need a world like in that film equilibirum. I know that sounds daft, but maybe we do need a more controlled society, or a society where people are more feared of the police...otherwise where will it ever end? How will things get better.

Over the top Human Rights, Political Correctness, soft punishment on young offenders and a lack of police on the streets. Seeing a few policeman walking the streets would make a huge difference..

But i'm sure there's even more to it

Do you agree though that kids were better behaved in the past...lets say between 1920's and 1950's...it would be good if we could somehow reverse the trend we've got ourselves in and makes things the way they used to be.

The only way to change society is to force a change in the kids...surely?

EDIT: btw, I live in leeds, I think the rioting has been quiet here, we havent had much of it compared to other cities, but I believe someone got shot the other day so even though the rioting has been pretty small I guess thats still pretty bad, I dont know if the guy died or what.

Yes to an extent, however think of it like this...

SCHOOL TODAY - Kid Causes trouble, throws abuse at teacher, Kid gets special help, Suspension, kid joins another school and it continues

SCHOOL IN THE PAST - Kid Causes Trouble - Cane across the hand, Kid most of the time thinks twice.

Fact, there have always been questionable social issues, barbarians, Romans, neanderthals etc

The problem is over population of the world.

Yeah I agree but I still think the majority of kids in the past had more respect for teachers/police/parents.

It's like as time as gone on, and we've got more freedom and better technology, the social side has been effected, but in a bad way, the social aspect of society has got worse.

This humnaity is devolving psychologicaly. This is a natural process of nature. A soul gets a finite oppurtunity to be born into the physical plane and cleanse itself and develop its awareness. Nature will evolve you so far then you have to do the rest of the work yourslef. If you don't you will start be carried in downward spiral as you correctly point out by the forces of devolution.

This devolutionary process is pretty much happening on planetary scale and human souls will eventualy be pulled into the inferior worlds (hell) to be purged and purified by nature because for whatever reason they're incapable of performing the action themselves. Then, after a very long time and lots of suffering, they will given the oppurtunity to reincarnate on the physical plane and hopefuly they might get it right on the next cycle of evolution.

What i've described here has happened at least once before. The last humanity reached a such state of degeneracy the nature purged it from the planet in global cataclysism. All cultures have a story about a previous humanity that God drowned in a flood because of there sin. It's a simplification of what really happened but you get idea.

We're not far off the next culling of the planet. The signs are everywhere. Last time it was a flood. This time it will be a Solar Flare that will knock out electrics followed by earthquakes. Some people will be 'saved' just like people were saved in the days of Noah.
