** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

Get the best pre-raid gear you can from heroics, justice/valor points, zandalari heroics (once you have the ilvl requirement).

Watch videos of the boss fights so you know what to expect then try get into some pugs to get geared and experienced.

I wish Blizz would do a batch realm transfer.

I have 5 level 85's and one soon to be 85 and i'd want to transfer all of them to a new realm.

Stuck on Terokkar at the moment and it just sucks sooo bad. The progression is just terrible and finding good new players to recruit is painful. I like the guild i'm in but we need to move in my opinion.

Plus, i'm getting pretty bored with WoW now. Everything is the same, firelands was an awful raid patch also. Pretty much rinsed it already. Ulduar on the other hand, that was epic!

Hey,

Once I hit 85 what's the best way to join a raiding guild and get some good gear.

Been levelling mainly through LFG and not having a lot of luck in the groups when it comes to loot so I don't look very appetising to guilds.

That and I'm Pally tank so it'd be a big risk for them to take on a noob tank :(

Skill in particular with a tank shines through above all else, if you can move / react / time cooldown use you will be head and shoulders above people with gear.

Being a tank it will take you no time at all to get geared; just keep hitting the heroics until you can hit the Trolls, keep checking trade for pugs to BH/BwD/BoT etc might not get in whilst you're in 333/346 blues but pick up a couple of 353/359s and they shouldn't have a problem.

Guilds (at least semi decent ones) will expect you to have pretty much the best gear available pre-Firelands, all enchanted and gemmed ofc with 2x appropriate professions to boot; being a tank though usually when they need one they will take what they can get so in all wouldn't stress too much about it.

What realm is the OcUK Alliance guild on? Now I've reached 85 I could do with a decent community to do HCs and eventually start raiding with. Are they active?

Don't happen to play anymore, Quit since Feb/March.

Having seen a few discussions with regards to realms, If you are to move to a server and you happen to be playing Horde as a faction then DO NOT move to Frostmane EU, It was dead while i was playing and probaly still is, Happen to be Alliance? Then it's all good. Memento Mori (If you know Swedish) or Security if your looking for an International guild are good options, If you're into semi/hardcore raiding.

How is Cataclysm treating those who happen to still play?
Any Death Knight's in here?! :D

DK here, Cata is boring tbh -- Unless they have new raid content coming up in the next month I can't see me lasting this tier. But timing for a lolquit is about right, BF3 soon :D

Frostmane here also, agree completely about that. About 15 of us of us migrated to alliance in Cataclysm because horde was dead for proper raiding and PvP. It was a good move, as the PvP player pool was a lot bigger and there was steady raiding for those who were so inclined.

Alliance side is very busy as mentioned. Security and 9th Order are your options for heroic 25man raiding if you're into that. There are many more casual raiding guilds around.

PvP here isn't as big as last season or previous expansions, but there are still a number of decent players involved in rated BGs/arena.

Harenzo = Harenza? :eek:

Ran my first raid tonight with my new guild. It's quite scary how professional they are and the knowledge they posses...

As i'm a proper noob I feel like a big fat duck out of water. Not great when you've just dinged 85 :p

Item level is now 353 which I don't think is too bad for a newish 85.

Tanked my first two troll heroics on my druid yesterday, must say they went much smoother than i imagined they would considering i accidentally queued for the first.

Missed out on the mount in za by like two minutes :/.

Been levelling my shaman through dungeon finder and i must say found it quite fun

Though i'm still torn whether or not to level my warrior, got burned out tanking with it in tbc before i rerolled to my shaman at the time (which i then rerolled to my dk at wrath release.

Well, In the last few months I semi-quit the game (Lets face it, you never fully quit) and *ahem* Sold my 700k Gold on my main toon. Me & a friend were interested in re-rolling and completely starting fresh on a new server.

I'd raided at top tiers and got Gladiator on my Priest so was lacking things to do & I personally hate alts.

We'd be changing server with no gold, no outside help & no heirloom items with the aim to experience the game from another PoV. BUT! I can't decide on rolling Shaman or Warlock. I've always wanted a Enhancement Shaman as a main since raiding as one in WOTLK but Warlocks really do appeal to me in other ways.

Could anyone playing either/both give me some insight on why you enjoy your class?

Cheers!

I'm guessing you simply bought some of the 359/378 BoE gear and crafted the rest using Blacksmithing?

The problem that I have, is that running heroics doesn't actually provide me with much better gear. I have a few 365 pieces, a couple of 346 pieces, and rest 333. Will heroics drop anything better than 346 gear that only provides a very small bonus over what I already have?

Here's my character: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/lightbringer/Keenex/advanced (Yes, that name did come up in a random name generator! :D)

Advice is appreciated if you think there is anything I could do better. :)

The main thing about the upgrades from standard heroics apart from them being ilvl 346 is that their stat distribution is sometimes more desirable.

They changed justice point rewards in 4.2 aswell so you will be able to get 3 pieces of tier 11 from justice points aswell.

Don't forget rep either there is a few pieces such as the belt that you can from grinding your rep up with cata factions, and do your tol barad dailies to get the mastery / resistance on use trinket.

Leveling a warrior atm to tank. I havn't played one since tanking four horse men back in vanilla, but i'm really enjoying the play style. Not liking the cleave/heroic strike changes though :|

Started playing again after quite a few months off and just while I wait for SWTOR to come out..

Is there a good Wow macro website I can use and anybody got some good builds for a

Shammy – Enhancement

DK – dps

Hunter

Cheers

Normal heroics are a waste of time for gear now really. I levelled a new warrior recently, and did maybe 2 normal heroics before heading straight into trolls.

Tanking random troll heroics can be kinda of painful for a new tank, but if you persevere you'll get it down and your gear and tanking skill will improve very quickly over a short amount of time.
