Discuss what? The 2500k destroys it
2500k for sure
what cpu do you have now ?
HA! I like it when people say this it makes me want it so bad, BUT.. Is there a notable difference when using it, or are you basing the 2500k destroying it based on benchmarks?
AMD Athlon II X3 425 @ 2.7 XD
Depends what your doing. Word processing? Probably not. Encoding? Hell yeah!
Noo this one I just want to see peoples opinions on each processor and such. Like is the i5 worth the price difference. I already know what Im going to buy.
Most setups with a core-i5 2500k I see are: Asus P8P67, The processor, Thermaltake Frio / BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro and a corsair psu.
TBH i had a i5 750 @ 4.4ghz watercooled and sold it
now have a phenom 555 x2 @ 4.2ghz and i dont notice any difference
even when gaming the FPS just seem the same.
Probably been mentioned in the other thread - but in like-for-like tests against a Phenom II X4 965BE (£96) the i5 2500K (£170) is quite a bit faster.
However, the phenom II is quite a bit cheaper and if its performance is good enough for what you are doing then it is a good CPU to go for and saves you money.
If you do want the extra speed and will make good use of it then the 2500K is a great option - especially when considering that it overclocks from 3.3GHz to 4.4GHz without much trouble (so long as you have a P67 or Z68 board).
have you tried to unlock the other core on your x3
