More humane than my idea anyway...

Reckon the ones that are arrested should be charged by a court of law, then forced into the army with no pay. Let the taliban mop them up so we don't have to waste bullets :mad: It would save the lives of the regular army for starters.

I don't get the whole debate on what to do, there was at least one depth study carried out in the 80s specifically to address the issues.

Why would you think that punishments should be proportionate to the crime? That be crazy talk, you're not one of them damn lefties are you?

Not incidentally but has it been proven that harsher punishments or more unpleasant conditions of incarceration actually do anything to reduce recidivism? Generally there's a lot of "stands to reason that it works dunnit" but little in the way of evidence to support the claim.

Those found guilty should be made to do voluntary work in some of the least developed countries for at least a month. They should be made to earn their food for the day and then they will appreciate what they take for granted. If they mess about there, then they should be put in isolation for a week then back out to do their month.
Might sound extreme but I believe it will be a deterrent.
 
A lot of the cases are being heard in the magistrates court then being passed onto crown court without bail.
Defo looking at eating a lot of porridge then.
Can't do the time then don't do the crime.

Yup, this is how it should be.

Those parents who've shopped their kids should be commended for stepping up and doing what a real parent should do.

I'm sure a lot of parents know what their kids have done returning home with 3 TVs, 4 pairs of trainers and a basket of DVDs.

Oh dear, my anti-intellectual rhetoric doesn't appear to have got us anywhere, but no, you go on, put down reasoned debate and intelligence, I guarantee the result will be entertaining.
