Had them out the box, look great thanks again!

Will be installing them after tea later on.

What's the thinking around the solid centred G3 discs, the one I bought to fit to the front has holes, these are marked G3CS, these are the same but SS at the end, guessing SS is for solid something!

someone else on the Internet! said:
The german Avid support centre has announced that Avid developed new G3SS rotors to solve the "occasional" squeal issues.

Didn't even know there were different ones!

Did you get them fitted OK?

Get SPD's, infinite grip! ;)

Including when you're heading down the trail head first with the bike still attached to your feet! :D

France, 16 days and counting.
Sitting here psyching myself up, probably a bit too much.

Been eyeing up a gap that I've not had the balls to do yet, but I know 1. I can do it and 2. it would make my holiday if I did ... but I lacked the testicular fortitude that last couple of years :(

I have the testicular fortitude ;)
First video is me going it with a chest cam view, second is my mate. Both filmed today

Very nicely done Spud, i'm starting to chicken out already :p
I it was a massive table, I would have not thought about it twice ... but I cant get the mental picture out of my head, of coming short on it and smashing myself up to peices leaving me unable to work for months!

One week and counting!

Ordered a 2011 Giant Reign 1 ( got it ridiculously cheap ) but as i always have ridden hardtails with clip in pedals im dunno what to do.....

Should i stick with my crank bros fettish and get a pair of mallets or would i be better getting a decent set of flat pedals?

Tbh it looks a lot more daunting than it actually is. As you see in my video you can just roll over the small tables before it, crank it on the run up and you just sail straight over it.
Christen that nice new bike of yours

Guys, myself, the wife and our 5 month old are booked into the Peebles Hydro for a few days break beginning of next week. I'm planning on taking the bike with me to escape for a short while and have a bash at Glentress. :)

Never been before, been round Laggan Red which was fine and also the red Highland Wildcat at Golspie ( which was tough as I strayed unknowingly onto a bit of the black  !! ) and my local trail is Carron Valley.

The thing is though, I'm carrying a hand / wrist injury ( bruised metacarpal ) which is still painful depending on the way I move my hand. Healing reasonably well though since I did it 2 and a half weeks ago. I'm determined to have a bash at Glentress while I'm down there though and having looked at it online was thinking about doing the blue run and taking it easy rather than jumping straight in and doing the red?. Is the blue reasonably smooth trailwise?. Watched a few vids on YT and it looks like it is?.

I know some folk will say "No, no......rest your injury and don't ride at all" but all I'm looking for is some relaxed riding at a gentle pace whilst I'm in Peebles. Bike is a 2010 Cube Acid HT.

....Glentress...

You will be fine on either Draeger, the blue is smooth the whole way round, the red only has a couple of "rough" sections. The question is if your injury will hold up, which only you can answer.

onto my rubber fettish:

I ripped the sidewall of my 2.25 UST Nobby Nic, so I'm trying out the WTB UST Weirwolf 2.3"

Width is: 2.25"
Weight is 920g. (claimed 890g)

(For reference the Nobby Nic was 740g)

It has a much more rounded profile than the NN.
It started leaking air at around 50psi when I was mounting the tyre so had to use some Stans sealant. Something I didn't have to do with the NN.

I used to be a fan of WTB a few years ago, so I'm expecting good things.

dreager go for a wee run up carron valley and see how you get on with your injury there, if its fine i would just do the red at glentress.

As a side note, were in Falkirk are you as i run Fitzcharles cycles down in grangemouth, i have a few good customers and were all kinda agreeing to start going out with each other a few times. space for 1 more if you like, we do Carron Valley, Glentress and Cambusbarren.

Speaking of tyre pressures, I'm off to Cannock tomorrow, think it's gonna be pretty dry/hard up there.

Running 2.25" Nobby Nics on my hardtail, I'm about 92kg. Got them at 30psi at the mo, is that about right?
