It's everything to do with consoles, developers are dumbing down games to appeal to the casual gamer, make it easy for them to get in to the game. Casuals are more associated with console gaming and that's where the profits are, of course there is good cash to be made from PC game sales.

If BF3 was PC exclusive I'm sure we wouldn't be seeing stuff like 3D spotting and health/vehicle regen in the game, and would have stuff like MOD files. Look at RO2 to see A PC game that has the depth and features a PC gamers craves.

As said recoil was all but absent in the alpha, instant death = not fun, hopefully it has been adjusted for the beta.

It shouldn't look like it was drawn in MS Paint

It doesn't though. I think you're forgetting that the alpha only had a single setting for low\medium\high and to be honest there was barely any difference between the settings. People arent even sure if it was running in dx11 mode or not.

Beta will be a lot more telling. :)

This tbh, i ran it at medium and high, 1920x1200, no difference in fps. Afterburner displayed it as d3d 11 in the osd. It did feel very smooth though, 50 fps max with a single card, 80 max on the updated client with sli enabled. Bc2 feels clunky in comparison and i run it at a lot higher fps.

I'm gonna have to try this game. I've never played a BF before but everyone on here seems to be going INSANE over it!!

Is it going to be THAT good!!

Should be pretty good, in the alpha with dual 470's, i got 80fps on high, 1920x1200.

I think that might be my next upgrade if my computer is a bit sluggish. Looking at the peak power consumption of a 480 SLI setup it looks like my 800W coolermaster will be right on the limit.

Im running the cards on an 850w corsair hx 850, total power draw in game is 630w ono, furmark uses 740w. Not that id run it anymore as the load it places is unrealistically high.
