OK, So I sold an ATi 4890 back in January, and today the card died. The guy I sold it to is blaming me and demanding his £50 back 'or else'.

I have told him to shove the card where the sun don't shine, and blocked the pillock on Facebook (he WAS a friend until now).

What advice do you suggest? Am I right in saying it's HIS fault, having owned the card 7 months?

what a douche lol. 7 days maybe, but 7 months? hell no

This. If it died within an acceptable timeframe and was sold without a warranty, fair enough. Even then I'd want the dead card back just to avoid being potentially scammed. 7 months though is just cheeky.

Agree with the rest, he bought it second hand to save money and hence no warranty
A bit disappointed that nobody has so far suggested to tell this person that you are not a shop.

do nothing get on with your life

if he knocks on your door giving you grief pummel him

sounds reasonable +1 :D

he obviously knew the risks of buying a second hand item so has no room to complain as he has had a good 7 months use out of it which is not bad for £50

2nd hand. Had the card been faulty to begin with as a mate you prob would have given him the money back. after 7 months use, its his problem.

The only decent thing to do is to link him this.
