Logitech been ripped off - to grass or not?

They didn't really stand much chance of sending him something he considered 'worthwhile' when he was expecting a £100 keyboard as a minimum though

Not bothered to read the 12 pages.

Someone care to sum it up in a sentence or two?

OP reported a scammer who was abusing Logitechs relaxed warranty replacement service to get free stuff to sell on eBay. Scammer caught and Logitech sent a box of promo crap to OP as a kthnxbye. Cue long line of butt sniffers bemoaning the offering, because OP DESERVES SO MUCH MORE for doing the right thing in the first place

More accurately.

What sort of stuff did he receive?

I must agree. By expecting to receive something in return makes you no better than the original fraudster. Then again, a free mouse or something from their millions of stock wouldn't have hurt anyone.

Was it just junk he received?

Pens, XXXXXL T-shirt and some used pants, about it. You know what I bet that it wasnt logitech who sent them but ocuk off their own back.

Sooner or later, because of people like the eBay seller, Logitech won't be as relaxed on their warranty, and as a result we'll all have to suffer.

No. You're wrong. It makes the OP a bit of a bitch for complaining, but not a fraudster.

Personally I was bought up with the mentality of doing the right thing or not.

So the OP had two options:

-Get in on the scam: Wrong.

-Report him to logitch which was the honest decent thing to do. Reward should not come into it, and should be suggested not asked for.

He got a wireless mouse, some pens, a bag and a t-shirt.

One would assume he's also ended up with a free speaker dock given he'll probably get money back from the eBay sale.

Maybe a few cakes so he could fit into that enormous t-shirt? :D

A few cakes later...

What would you do now? Would you just keep quiet and carrying with your shiney new product, or would you dob him in to both eBay and Logitech, or would you keep quiet for a backhander? LOL

I think your reward may perhaps have been a bit better - if anything at all - had you gone straight to Logitech rather than asking on the internet first which was the right thing you should do. ;)

I suspect they already have done. Tried to RMA my X530s and was asked for full proof of purchase, which isn't unreasonable by any means, but a pain in the arse 'cause I've lost my receipt. Ah well, just have to set the balance more towards the blown speaker :p

I think that just depends on who you end up with tbh! Some people are asked to smash their stuff, others are asked for a piece of it, others require nothing at all.

No they still didnt ask me for my invoice. I had a wireless kb and mouse deskset that the reciever died on and they sent me a replacement set with no quibble. Mind you it wasnt an expensive product.
