Ugh why do people treat pets like objects.

This is what worries me, the smell. I admit I'm not fond of dogs mainly the smell I'm very sensitive to smells living with a smoker. I know for a fact she will not walk it everyday let alone for an hour.

My friend owns a staffie and it **** all over their house and raids the bins everywhere it's a complete mess. As soon as you walk in the house the smell hits you and the dog is all over you, you end up straight into the shower when you get home. I have to wear a beanie hat and a long sleeve shirt everytime I go downstairs so I don't smell of smoke, I don't wanna smell like dog too.

To be fair - about the dog smell/mess etc... my mum has 2 dogs: bedlington terrier cross and a whippet terrier cross. Because she cleans dog bedding, hoovers dog hair every day, does not allow the animals upstairs, walks them both at least twice a day (probably 1-2 hours in total), is the boss of them :p There's relatively little problem with having dogs in the house... her life revolves around the needs of the dogs (for the most part), she is the pack leader and they go where she leads. However, dogs are very much creatures of habit - you can spot a dog that has no routine by how badly behaved/difficult it is.

Your mum sounds like the exact opposite of a good dog owner.

Hello is the the RSPCA?
Yes
My mum is thinking of getting a Husky and re-homing the cats
And? .............
But she's going to re-home the cats and she won't walk the new Husky
And? ...........
But the house will smell of Husky
And? ..........

and so on

Because she sounds incredibly irresponsible and unfit to look after a husky, if she gets one I think it's obvious that she's going to neglect the dog, and if he does, he will need to do something about it.

So you think the RSPCA will proactively stop her from getting a husky? What exactly would give them the right to do so?

That's a great looking cat! A husky will be loads of effort to care for, much more than the cats. It's a terrible idea to get one by the sounds of it, yes they look nice, but be realistic.

(Off topic) Bifröst I sincerely feel sorry for you living in Worthing, an absolute **** magnet for toilet floaters with limbs in the town centre!

Yep, pretty much a poor persons Brighton on Friday/Saturday night, I avoid the town on the weekends for that reason.

I actually live in Lancing but its easier to say I live in Worthing as nobody knows where Lancing is...at the very least we don't have as many drunks on the weekend but there is nothing to do in this town.

a husky does not sound like a good pet for your mum...

has she actually read up on them? they are working animals they need tons of exercise and training they are also pack animals so unless the owner is very assertive and takes the role of the alpha of the pack the dog will instead...

not advisable as a first time dog either + they cost a small fortune and are known to have a lot of health problems so expect thousands in vets bills.

This.

I lived in Worthing for twenty five years, I'm glad I moved! Lancing is alright I've got a few friends and family that way (Sompting area) mostly.

Sompting is nice down around the brooklands area and in Mickey Mouse town, around the school has its fair share of troublesome families but overall its quiet..probably because the ball tree pub closed :D

What made you dislike Worthing so much? I think its alright but then again I don't live there :)
