So basically if every MMO had fees, people would only play one at at a time. That is THE reason why the subscription fee is destroying MMOs because people cant play more than one at the same time. Almost the entire gaming base that is willing to pay fees are glued to WoW, leaving very few players for other MMOs, because the people subbed to WoW wont pay for anything else.
BECAUSE THEY LIKE WHAT WOW IS OFFERING!!! Seriously can you not comprehend that?
If they didn't like WoW they would leave.
Is that really hard to comprehend?
When MMOs lose the fees, and players can log in and play whichever one they want, people will be able to buy and play several MMOs, as they always have done with single player games. In fact thats what I already do - in a single month I can play a little bit of each GW, Lotro, DDO, and even AoC if I want to.
Right, thats fine for you, but i personally like to invest my time into 1 MMO. The same goes for the vast majority of the MMO genre. Proved by the P2P subscription numbers.
But you couldnt do that if everyone of them games had fees, you could only play one meaning far fewer sales and income for the rest as people are only paying for one at a time.
If a MMO launched tomorrow that offered everything that WoW does, but better in every way, do you not for one second think that the vast majority of there subscription base would move?
People play WoW because its fun, easy and very very polished.
Rift is a good example that if you provide good polished content you can get the numbers.
Therefore FTP is definitely SAVING the MMO Genre, while fees are destroying it.
F2P is the Beko of washing machines, they produce rubbish at minimal cost for maximum profit which only hurts the customer, while Bosch and Miele produce top quality washing machines at a smaller profit and the quality vastly benefits the customer, this is why P2P is VASTLY better then F2P.
