Going to Amsterdam tuesday! Spec me things to do

I always pop into Mellow Yellow at Vijzelgract 33, quite like the place, but a bit of a walk out of the city centre.

The Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum are pretty awesome places to visit too.

Depends if you want more than just getting caned within the first 30 mins and wandering round the red light district :p
 
The best two coffeeshops in my opinion are

Home grown fantasy. It only sells weed but it is all home grown. It also has good space cakes. It's not that far from central station on a street named Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal.

Katsu. This is in a side street off the Albert Cuyp market. It sells a good selection of hash and grass. You can get a tram from central station to Albert Cuyp market or do about a 20 - 25 minute walk.

None of the above two coffee shops are rip of bars. If you are worried about being ripped off don't buy in any of the red light area coffee shops. Not all the coffee shops in the red light will rip you off but you won't know which ones will or not.

The Heineken brewery tour is something else to do.

You could have a look at the Melkweg and Paradiso websites to see if any good bands are playing Amsterdam while you are there.

I would get tram tickets if anything. However the bits of Amsterdam you will want to see can be walked to. There is nothing to see or do in the suburbs really so you will be pretty much doing everything in the city centre(ish). At the end of the nights drinking I would get a taxi to your hotel.

If for some weird reason you just don’t want to get stoned and drunk you can visit the Anne Frank house and the various museums.

Never walk around the red light area on your own at night. Never buy anything from a street dealer. At best you will get ripped off at worst you will get poisoned.

I didn't care for Anne Frank's House. It was rather dull. I'd only visit it if you're genuinely interested in that sort of thing.

If you like are then you could visit the Rembrandt Museum and the COBRA Museum.


Alternatively; sex, ganj, booze, repeat.

Try out Dutch gin.

I went to Amsterdam with my girlfriend over New Years, it was amazing. The idea of a sex show is good, but the actual show itself is a bit meh. It cost around 50 euros for the both of us and you can buy drinks inside.

Just don't go in expecting the women to look like pornstars, all of them were utterly rancid.
 
hooker roulette the ugly fat ones are 30 euros the nice ones are 50 euros. all put 50 euros each into a safe place and choose 3 hookers without telling each other just write something like "fat black one third door from left" then place into a hat and take one. bear in mind if you put a bad one in yourself you could still pick it up yourself. bad memories :D

The night i had gone to alto jazz cafe,it was Latin jazz night and i thoroughly enjoyed that place,there was a girl sitting next to myself drawing the musicians,was great seeing people getting up to do the salsa dance:) let me know what you think of alto,i plan another trip to the dam asap:)
