****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I find it odd people are complaining about battery this thing is great now am 1 day 1 hour and 26 mins in and still sitting at 63%, certianly using as much as I use the O3D which i could barely get to last 10 hours.

I am using [KH3]Batista70 3.7.1 Based 2.3.4 and its great certainly my favourite one so far.

i have a spare samsung battery that i kept when i returned my duff phone :D

i alternate between the two, which allows me to run a battery down to almost dead before a full recharge. i know people say otherwise but my personal view is constant charging does not do the battery any good, i believe (IMO) its better to full charge and then fully unload, with one battery that is not always possible

It's proven scientific fact that Li-ion batteries should not be used in that way.

lies!

i have had enough battery powered items to test over the years, and 'top up' charges again in my view shorten battery life. 4 people in my work team have the same laptop and my battery out lasts everyone's

i don't mean run the thing till it powers off, but getting it as low as possible and then fully charging, resisting the top up charge.

I know many batteries in the past have been better that way, and that may include laptop batteries, but as said, I'm failrly sure its common knowledge you should charge before 40% if possible on current phone batteries.

guys how can I make an invisible widget? i've got a torch/led app on the homescreen right in the centre, but I dont want an icon on its own in the centre, looks odd. Can I make it invisible so when I tap the centre of the screen the led comes on?

If its just a shortcut icon, use something like Folder Organiser which will allow you to assign a transparent png as the icon.

Saves being ripped off by nigerians and having to re-list. My time is more important than a few quid.

Just let me know when you want to sell then. I'll buy from you and make 60% on it :)

Apple suggest a full discharge and re charge once a month ........ Someone linked to it I the apple forums. Are they similar batteries ?

It's worth calibrating your battery now and then, which requires this. I'm not sure once a month is necessary, but okay.

The fact that Apple say to only do this once a month, kinda back up what we're saying about not letting it happen every night.

very good, now how about some relevance?

i9000 on mobilephonexchange last week were offering £184 used. On Ebay there were 2 or 3 BIN's for ~£200. It's not worth £16 when you include paypal fees and re-listing when a Nigerian bids on it.

Relevance to what? You disagreed, I just showed it can be the case, with evidence.

Why are you worried, just let me know when you want to sell...

Relevance to a more recent device.

I'm not worried at all. I'm not the only one that chooses mobile phone recycling companies over ebay. It's less faff.

I chose to recycle my previous phones because it was faster :) 2-3 days for payment, rather than waiting for a whole week, and then waiting for them to pay etc.
