Although it says "Your order should have arrived on Tuesday, 23rd August 2011" Not sure if that means affived at the despatch depot or what, i certainly havent got it and no further emails to say its been despatched.

Allright, thanks. I guess in this case "processed" = "cancelled" and "should have arrived" = "cancellation email has arrived" :p
 
Called Amazon regarding my order that was placed prior to it listing as out of stock/removed but still awaiting dispatch.

Customer Service response was basically awaiting shipment from HP. Whether that is taken to be a generic reply to "Out of Stock" items or a more specific "We are waiting for a known shipment from HP" is anyones guess.

Edit - E-mail follow-up to call. Seems it was a generic reply for stock issues:

I have checked your order #XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and found that the availability estimate for the item HP TouchPad 9.7 inch Tablet PC (16GB, Glossy Black) - UK Version is listed as "Temporarily out of stock." I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused.

When an item is listed as "Temporarily out of stock. Order now and we will deliver when available" this means that it is an item that is not ordered frequently--so we cant predict exactly how long it will take us to obtain it or when we will be able to ship it to you. After you place your order, we will do our best to get the item for you.
