Too late to get shipped today I'm afraid, shall be done tomorrow
I know of this competitor and investigated it and the stock they are selling was offered to us a few days ago and it was made clear to us it was manufacturer repair or old stock, so a mixed bag. We've also been informed by XFX they have not been supplying them product and they have been buying refurb stock and selling as new or so we've been told, whether true or not is another question, just seems odd.
If were told a product is refurbished at point of purchase, we sell and advertise it as refurbished, to do otherwise is a bit underhand.
However I would say the fact they offer a 2yr warranty does make up for that as refurb or not what does it matter with a 2yr warranty, as your covered for two years, which still means good value.
As to our pricing were leaving it as it is for now, sales are strong, they are reference and supplied by one of NVIDIA's longest standing partners as such we believe our pricing to be off good value and our run rates back this up. I did however drop some prices a couple of days ago so you might want to re-check our website price as forum prices are not linked to the website, so always check the website as prices do change daily.![]()
Seems from looking at other place I was indeed correct, refurbs but sold as new.
could they technically be sued for misrepresentation then? (or something along those lines)

I would say "technically" yes they could.
We live in a litigious society and pleading "sorry guv, I didn't know" is not acceptable.
If you have a good lawyer you would win.
And what would you gain by suing?
As long as they offered a full refund, and covered any costs, you'd have no loss to be compensated for.

To answer questions our cards are all reference design and most look new, but they are as new refurbs as advertised with 1yr warranty.
Yes you can fit water blocks etc just dontcause any damage in process and if you ever have to return then restore to stock before you and dontcause any physical damage.
The 9800's are ideal physx cards![]()
if you look at the description on the competitors site, it does say - This Card is OEM and does not come in retail packaging. The card may show signs of use but will be in full working order. (Manufacturer Refurbished)
I also see ocuk is matching them on the 480 pricing, one thing I might add is the 2 year warranty they have in one sentence and 1 year in another.

From looking at the other place, it seems that some customers received sealed, brand new cards and others got open ones, so it's disengenuous to say that all their stock was like it.
I bet you wouldn't like it if someone tried the same thing with OCUK.
