do they have them in stock at the store near you?

I reserved one until Friday, was waiting for the price to drop before going out though.

tbh Argos have made the system unfair by allowing people to extend their reservations. They should just allow 24hrs reservations like they do on all of their other items. I am sure all store stock has now been reserved nationwide by dealhunters and people using stock checker websitesand those people have extended their reservations so are sitting pretty until the price drop is announced.

Early bird and all that :) I'd be happy to let any I don't need go on here for cost price, if Amazon come through that is (I doubt they will).

I don't know anything about this device. Is there a way to get Android or Windows on it? I cant imagine many apps being available for it now!

Android is being ported to it, some Linux distros run on ARM based CPUs but full Windows won't. Windows 8 when it's released may get ported to it.

Yes i made my account from PC then it automatically upgraded once i logged in with the app from the touchpad.

That's cool I guess HP must have done a deal on server hardware or something to cover cost, I'm hoping that there is good news regarding stock and price on a certain site tomorrow, my only chance to get my palms on one .

ok who is in the same situation at me?

got a reserved email
full price on email
reserved with a tick
collection at a date range [mine is aug 25-aug 30]
phone system posted above shows dropped price

are we going to get ours if we go into store?

yes you pay the in store price the day you collect, not the price when reserved !

I wasn't having a dig :) Early bird to me is the man who wakes up each day and renews their reservation. The same way other online stores empty baskets after time etc, Argos normally empty reservations everyday, the fact they have allowed extensions for this one product seems unfair. They should make people work harder to get the bargain :D

If it was me, I would go to the store 2 mins before closing time, and if they told me all the items in stock are reserved, I would ask them "how come as your site only allows 24hr reservations!" and expect them to hand me one before they close the doors, rather than hold it for someone coming in the next 2 days. In essence there is no point in anyone without a reservation turning up to any UK Argos store, which to me is not in the spirit of getting this bargain.

Having said that, it is easy for me to preach an ideal system when I already have a guaranteed Touchpad and others are waiting.

im more concerned at if they actually will have it!

i have 3 32s ordered!

if argos come through, i will use them more often out of loyalty for other things!

No need, the official apps is like 10% of the story - once you have 'preware' there are massive amounts of other apps free - think true openware.

Someone set up a jabber server for this. Would mean anyone can notify everyone when the pre 3 goes on sale at palm and other touchpad stuff.

I guess, although strictly speaking they hold them until end of trade on that day, so they wouldn't be able to sell it to you until they opened the next day.

I could be at home renewing my reservation at 20.01 :p

Argos have the touchstone chargers at half price too. Wish I had found that 5 minutes before I reserved one at the pc world 30 miles away instead of after.
Oh well, reserved it anyway. Anyone in poole want a touchstone charger? :)

And that way you would be working for it :D

On a serious note, good luck getting it. Ideally it would be nice of all OCuK forum members could get one (although not too sure about the lurkers and people who registered here just for this thread!).

The way I look at it, and told a mate earlier who missed out, "This time 2 days ago you had no intention of spending £89/£115 or getting a HP Touchpad. The fact that others have got one and you haven't shouldn't ruin your day/week/life".

I have kept my Amazon order, although like you don't expect to get it fulfilled, but if it does I am happy to pay for it and then flog it here to a deserving forum member at cost price + p&p + maybe price of pint/lunch (A man has to eat/drink!!)

The problem is that the flipping online price has not been updated yet. Hence we don't know if you enter the code in-store on the machine it will come up at the reduced price??

If the online price was reduced you could take a print-out with you and the reservation number with you.
