Just learned, the dungeon finder in TOR will not tell you what class people are................................really really!?

Do you have any ideas how to get past crashing while patching? Bioware havent helped much so far :)

Installing Main Assets 1 crashes after about 5-10%

Done the usual, deleted files with VERSION and tried again, no change.

I'm not in the beta so i wouldn't know, plus apparently i'm the guy grassing everyone up to Bioware. Surprised your even talking to me. ;)

I don't think he's saying people shouldn't buy it, his suggestion is to those who are slagging the game off on forums. Instead of trying to argue about it being rubbish before it's even out, why not just save yourself the money and not bother with it at all if that's how you feel?

Exactly what I meant!! :)

yes but the good sith is ranked about the same as a evil republic .. sith evil is far deeper than republic, in most sith conversations the answers are different degrees of evil where its not anything like that in republic

I'll have to take your word for it since you've played, I just remember seeing vids quite recently where a Jedi could give someone a chance of redemption and join the Jedi Order or kill him.

Maybe for republic those options are far and few between, only going republic because of my friends though.

I personally don't get PvE servers, it just destroys the whole atmosphere for me that if you play a republic jedi an evil sith can walk up to you and spam /spit emotes at you and following you around throughout your farming and just constantly annoy you and you just have to sit there and take it. As long as it doesn't escalate to verbal abuse or harasment a GM wont do anything, so on a PvP server at least you can just kill him.

If this was a my little ponies, or a care bears MMO I can understand a peaceful world, but in a world where the story revolves around a war between the factions I think a PvP server is needed. This is also one of the main reasons I quite WoW, it just destroyed the story for me how little the alliance and horde actully fight eachother, its not a war even on PvP servers, just little skirmishes.

Im all for designated pvp areas/planets/zones or hell, even "flagging" on any planet, but as "non-atmospheric" as "holding hands" is, ganking is just as atmosphere destroying...imo.

Flagging for me has always been the preferable system, allows you to fight wherever and whenever, but allows those unwilling or unable to compete to keep their heads attached to their bodies

I've not read much about how Bioware plans to implement world PvP, it may still be under NDA.

Most standard PvP servers are just about ganking and griefing. For this reason alone RP PvP servers are a must as the level of maturity is generally higher and you can end up with some epic world PvP battles and less pointless ganking and griefing.

Star Wars needs epic battles it's part of it's DNA.

I prefer PvE with the option of dropping into some PvP when I feel like it. Like Warhammer Online style.

Always prefer PvP it adds that extra spice, problem with PvP servers is the small amount of whinning whinging little kids who cry that they being ganked.

PvP servers are not just about ganking and griefing. I played a WoW PvP server and throughout the entire leveling process I was killed by the enemy in open world PvP less than 10 times, and was only griefed twice and that was when we was doing one of the open world boses that does a powerful attack each time someone dies so they just suicided into him to stop our raid.

At the end of the day the rewards for open world PvP are minimal to that of proper PvP, and don't forget everyone has access to companions that they can bring along, which can be helpful when running away from someone trying to attack you.

I could understand the hate for PvP more if it was like Lineage 2 or any of the other MMOs where on death you can drop items, but in games like swtor and most modern MMOs these days the penalty for death is usualy just a couple min wasted in terms of reviving and transport. And usually there is friendly or neutral towns in most places that will have guards to prevent fighting nearby and I would assume that SWTOR is no different.
