Samsung smartphones now banned in the EU

Like I said in an earlier thread, Apple just want a monopoly as they know competitors are really threatening their existence. One only has to look at the increasing Android market share.
Sadly this means that us consumers are going to suffer, great..

I actually believe the opposite will happen. Android is now a massive platform and will get bigger than apple due to its open source availibilty. Samsung i believe make something like 60% of the components in every iphone so the relationship with samsung was always mutually exclusive with this news there might be a sudden shortages of Iphone components. Licencing your product to others and opening up development has been the key to the success of microsoft, closing your application to people who have to pay to develop applications for your software will never ever be a way forward in this day and ages, at least imho.

Meh i got my galaxy s last year anyway. I don't really see how anybody could side with what apple is saying as they're not exactly replicas and it's pretty hard to make a phone completely different.

Business as usual in the patent world. This does not affect samsung at all. Other than a minor flash update, that they said they would allready do. It doesn't even effect android 3.0 and up.

Samsung won't cut their ties with apple, it makes no sense at all.

Just a normall day in the corporate world, which makes lawyers money and changes nothing.

Also can people stop saying big bad apple, these lawsuits happen daily between corporations. It's not new or unique and everyone does it.

I think you missed the part where Apple seems to be doing it a lot more than everyone else.

Or maybe Apple specialises in the most petty types?

Go look at other industries Operating systems is a good one. Everyone sues everyone else, surprisingly those with the more or more specialised patents sue more often. This is just like the Microsoft days and the haters.

Specialised patents? You mean like the incredibly vague one Apple filed about the look of a tablet?

Specialised as in this corner of the Market, not what it is actually for.
When you hold the patents and aren't open source. You hold a lot of power and will sue more often.

Why are you only looking at the mobile industry? Rather than the patent industry in general. Then you would see how normal it is for the big players.

they all owe Kubrick
