Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple

Maybe you're just a fan of jumping into Apple threads and shooting your mouth off? Christ knows you're always there. With an opinion.

It might be a massive shock to you to find this out, so you might want to sit down, but this place "forums.overclockers.co.uk" is a discussion forum, you know, where people discuss things, often including opinions and ideas?

I don't know how you've managed to make over 3000 without noticing this.

Seriously, why even pretend that's true when you know it isn't? I thought you were more mature than that.

You're talking out of your arse. "Ruins political systems, herp derp, my irrational hate of a technology company backed up by some pretentious pseduo intellectual horse **** about politicians".

Both will be remembered. The man who created Apple and the man who took it forward. If you can't see that you're an idiot. Yes Woz did lots of great things with his engineering. But if it had been left up to him, it would still be in kit form, people would have to solder everything themselves and nobody would have made any money and Apple (and Woz) would have gone the way of so many other companies selling kit computers at the time.

Jesus tap dancing Christ. You think people only remembered from when Steve Jobs was re-employed by Apple who at the time were a sinking ship and successfully turned the company around to one of the richest today. That doesn't mean anything of course because RON PAUL.

I'm talking about society, if you didn't notice, which is hardly surprising.
I have no hate for apple, i may have a general dislike for monopolisers, but that's as far is it goes, i dislike stereotyping as an argument, as it only means you cannot win it.

This conversation is over.

It's not though is it? Go have a re-read of your crap in the Apple section. Particularly the Apple hate thread.

You don't like monopolisers? Hate to tell you broski, but that's the way the world works. You're going to be angry at rich people for a long long time.

I hoped you stamped your foot and flounched off when proclaiming the conversation was over.

It's not what, exactly?

Also, one thread, what happened to "every Apple thread"?

That's the one I remember most recently. But here you are in another Apple thread. So this one will be the most recent. And the next time another Apple thread comes up, there you'll be, banging on your pulpit, telling the sinners what for.

Roffle, okay.

It's such a shame that people can be so disgusting towards a guy, who, has done more than they'll ever do combined. If the Google bosses quit or the MS bosses quit there wouldn't be even a whiff of this type of negativity.

Apple may not have started touch screens or apps but they sure as hell showed the world how to do it on a grand and simple way. Just like the rest that follow, who had to follow, seeing the success Apple had with its iPhone/iOS.

People say they are overpriced, overprotected but they simply work, perhaps too simply for the geeks out there and their modding needs but selling 20m units a quarter tells a story all by itself.

People are writing that he is already dead, and perhaps he is close to that fate but so what, show some respect. Apple have pushed/dragged technology forward a lot faster than it would've been hadn't Apple constantly innovated, anyone who says they don't is clearly small-minded.

It isn't about fanboys yapping at each other, if you lower yourself to that (regardless of which 'team' you support, you're fanboys non the less). It's a about a guy thats achieved a lot in life and helped build the richest company in the world, yet his personal wealth is no where near that of other similar company CEO's / Founders. It's about respect and a thank you for your commitment and vision.

I know he maybe isn't ready to quit, but I'm sure that he'll be content with his life and happy of what he achieved...

Finally, again, even though I sound like he's already dead, I just hope he can enjoy whatever time he has left with his family and friends.

Peace.

Well said. :)

Wish him all the best. It seems they were prepared for this and already have people in the right places.

I have no sympathy for a man who used his power and money to get ahead of everyone else for a liver transplant. He shouldn't have even been eligible for one due to the severity of his condition. This could very well have cost the life of someone who actually deserved the transplant.

I hope the iPad was worth it, because every single one is drenched in blood.

You owe me a new keyboard.

Here's to the crazy ones.

The misfits.

The rebels.

The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing that you can't do is ignore them.

Because they change things.

Love Steve Jobs or hate Steve Jobs his stamp on the computer and tech industry is not to be under-estimated. I wonder what computers, tablets and phones would look like now if there had been no Apple.

Good luck with the putting your feet up Steve.

Forgetting Steve Wozniak here.

Forgetting Steve Wozniak here.

Nope. Woz ia a legend - a legend of an engineer. His influence at Apple should never be underestimated but I am talking about the design and vision from Apple and that is down to the single-minded focus of Jobs.

Tim Cook should be fine as new CEO. Oh and good luck with trying to short sell Apple shares.

Don't particularly like the guy from what i've read about him, but certainly do admire him. Not going to say anything on the health as that's a private matter for him, and illness shouldn't be wished on anybody.

However, for all intents and purposes the guy is Apple. The last time such a charismatic leader of major tech corporation stepped down and left the ops guy in charge hasn't really worked out - and Apple is likely to be even more exposed than Microsoft were with Gates.
