BBC map for actual 3G coverage

Very interesting, and basically does prove that in NI O2 virtually have no 3G, even in Belfast city centre theirs large gaps of no 3G and no 2G.

Yup its a pain!

In my work I was lucky if i got any coverage at all on o2

Since switching over to Orange it's been a hell of a lot better.

Yea Northern Ireland is very interesting on the 3G front. Thank **** I went back to 3 from T-Mobile.

To be fair though, the map isn't overly accurate. The OFCOM maps from awhile back are a bit better.

I feel special then that Ballymena does get 3G

but it is surprising when I go into Belfast to find how dodgy the signal can be.

I moved to 3 and their 3G is a little more persistent but in areas where O2 would give me GPRS, 3 have No Service which is a little worrying.

What is good is that they allow the full Personal Hotspot on an iPhone to run, even on a pay and go account.
