eBay query

I see where your coming from there had the item in question not sold for more than previous it would be odd, but on this occasion its currently at 25% higher than it sold for previously.

So as harsh it may seem pulling the plug on the previous buyer because he paid a few hours late, it was a decision out of principle alone.

Buy now pay later is when you get whatever you've bought before paying for it. On ebay, the buyer doesn't get the item until they've paid. He was acting well within the ebay rules.

It means you buy something and pay for it after you receive it.

Given you didnt send the buyer the item before he paid, it isnt buy now pay later, its just paying 4 days after winning an Ebay auction. Not crime of the century.

You are demonstrating much that is wrong with Ebay these days, sorry, but thats just how it looks. Your request for immediate payment is illogical, it was 4 days, who cares? Whats the big deal?!

Why did you need payment with 24h?

What difference does it make? I'm guessing absolutely none seeing as you could obviously hang around for another auction to run.

I hope the winning bidder this time doesn't pay for 4 days too.
 
So you waited for him to pay and then cancelled!:confused: Sounds like you're deliberately antagonising the bloke. If you were so adamant about payment within 24 hours, why didn't you cancel the transaction once the 24hrs were up?

Instead you wait for him to pay and then cancel, pretty stupid tbh.
 
Ebay sided with him. Given how often that happens for a seller I don't see why you guys are giving him such a hard time...

Because it's 4 lousy days, and imagine an ebay where all sellers acted with this level of retardation.
Well, anyway, it's just plain uncivilised. IMO, if you auction something, it sells for the price it sells for. I can't stand sellers who feel they might have gotten a slightly better price, stiff the original buyer, and then re-list. That's hardly cricket. We bid to buy, and often bid for bargains.

Eh? The listing said payment in 24 hours and the buyer didn't comply. Seller is perfectly at liberty to relist!

Unfortunately not, the ebay rules state that the buyer has 4 days to pay. These supersede the sellers instruction. 8 actually (in a sense), 4 days before action, then 4 days more from lodging a dispute.

Because its such a completely ridiculous thing to create a thread about.

At best he is simply being arsey. If Ebay say he is entitled to be arsey then thats fine but if he creates a thread about it most people will point out that he is just making work for himself and drawing attention to it.

I didnt cancel because i could get a better price, I cancelled because he took too long to pay up.

And I requested payment from the buyer immediately after he won, no reply, I then requested cancellation of the transaction 2 days after he won. no reply. he then paid up a few hours after 4 days had passed since the sale, I immediately refunded him and send him a message stating he took too long and its been re listed. He then refused the cancellation of the transaction.

I call ebay, ebay side with me. end of story.

So his complete lack of communication resulted in my being "arsey" as you put it.

I'm not a business just a person selling old junk on ebay, so in this case the customer isn't always right and I couldn't care less if they like that or not.
