how much do you pay virginmedia ?

ive had problems in a old house with speeds and they do give refunds for slow connections (ive had a few lol)

I've tried to get a refund but it's been refused, which I'm quite angry about to be honest. Nothing but messing about with them, I've had countless fix dates, even had an engineer round to check everything, and even though they know this, they won't acknowledge there was a fault as I didn't officially complain! Even though I had an engineer round!

THREAD RESSURECTION

We were talking about whether a thread like this exists in another thread about sky. So if anyone wants to post updates with what they pay Virign Media for their package EXCLUDING MATES RATES DEALS* that would be cool.

(*retention deals are fine, but not mates rates deals (deals passed on from virginmedia empoyees to friends and family) where they are very low prices as this just causes confusion for other customers)

I need to ring up and get a deal tbh but I just pay £30/m for 20mb cable.

They did offer me XL TV and Phone for £2 extra but that was before we knew we could install stuff in our rented flat

30mb BB
Anytime calls

£39

They upgraded my area for digital tv last month, but i watch everything online, and
Would only be interested in tivo, dont have the funds atm to pay the premium for the box.

Talk Unlimited: £8
Phone+BB Saving: -£8

Total: £34.49

The talk unlimited is a waste of time, as I rarely use that phone line, but for some reason, they wont let me have anything else.. Feel slightly ripped off indeed.

Virgin 50MB £37

Its going soon, problems have started and it seems once they start you'll never get a decent connection again

I hope this isn't the case for me, I have just signed a contract for the following:

50mb BB
XL TV package
Free weekend calls (M)
Free extra VHD-Box

1/2 price for the first 6 months - £38.65 I think
After 6 months I will downgrade TV: £45.00 roughly.

Anyone got some suggestions on getting a better deal out of Virgin?

I'm just coming to the end of a 12month contract and am paying £34 for a phone line and 20Mb Cable.

I called up threatening to cancel and the best they could offer was £28.50 (new 12m contract). I argued that on the website you can get better deals (inc. discounts + cash back) and he said they were only for new customers. I replied that I'd cancel and reconnect on one of these deals and he claimed Virgin have a 2 month period after you cancel before you can get an introductory offer - is this true?

I have heard about that period before they told me it was 6 months. Was that customer services you talked to or retentions/ cancellations department

Phone line, free weekend calls, 50MB broadband, TiVo 500GB - £42 a month.

We did have phone line and 10mb broadband, I just rang up and got one of the offers on their website no problem, think its about £33 for 6 months.

I went through to cancellations.

You have to get through to a British person because the Asians can't give the deals.
Keep ringing & complaining until you eventually get a Brit.

I did get a brit. The guy even went on SamKnows whilst speaking to me to try to claim I couldn't get BT Infinity (he was wrong).
