Pro Evolution soccer 2012 Demo

Haha. :D

Seriously though, if you watch the intro the passing and dribbling animations look so, so clunky. The passing looks like the ball has no weight at all, it just sort of pings off the player's foot regardless of how hard it is kicked. Then the in-game animations are worse, it ruins the experience.

Yeah I totally understand what you mean, I do find it fun to play but it's in no way realistic. I wonder when the FIFA demo is coming out, can't wait to get my teeth into UT this year, I hope it's available from the start.

Yeah OMS

It still feels arcade like, still prefer fifa over this can't wait for the demo to come out.

And kill I think they said UT will be available a week or two after release, hope so as I preordered the special edition to get the free packs!

Cool, was the special edition any more expensive than the regular game? I heard it was only a couple of free gold packs each month?

Unfortunately I only got to play the demo once before I had to delete it to make room for my Deus Ex game save but I didn't like it tbh

I'll see what the demo of Fifa has in store but I reckon this will be yet another year where I just give the football games a miss

If it's a PES diss, your opinion is very welcomed :)

Ah so your previous comment was just a troll seeing as you didn't even attempt to answer my question. :)

Worth adding my opinion or will I annoy too many people? ;)

I'd be interested in your opinion. It's definitely an improvement over last year but that isn't exactly high praise. It's heading in the right direction but the game still isn't anywhere near as fluid as FIFA, the animations for the most part are still pretty bad and the turning and receiving of the ball is still way slower than it should be. This is old code though and the September demo is meant to reflect the final product a bit better. I'll hold my full opinion until then, can't wait for a FIFA demo too.

I downloaded this earlier to see what it's like compared to Fifa, as I haven't owned a PES game since PES 6 on the xbox 360, which was massively disappointing compared to PES 5 on the original xbox. All this demo made me do is realise what an awesome game Fifa 11 is, and how far PES still has to come to be anywhere near as good. If this demo is any indication of the final product, or even close to it, I think you'd have to be mental to get this instead of Fifa.

The ball physics, player animations and graphics are all woeful in my opinion. I used to be a die-hard PES fan, PES 5 is one of my most fondly remembered video games, and it's sad to see how much of an arcade game PES has become.

They are both poor to be honest, I wish other developers would have a go at making Football games, seems ridiculous that it's the biggest sport in the world yet we get the same old **** every year from the same two developers.

Fifa doesn't change much because it already plays really well.

You have EA making this thing, it's their flagship title with the most money spent on it. The amount of resources going into it, I doubt any other devloper would even come close.

You would be moaning 10 fold if EA wasn't behind it.

It's hard to decide what to say without inciting a massive flame war. All I'll say is that FIFA is nowhere near perfect, but PES still has massive issues and that Konami have really struggled to make the jump from the previous generation to the current one. PES does have some good points though and I'll reserve my full judgement until I've played FIFA 12 and the updated PES 2012 demo.

PES demo is apprently the worst code that has come out. The E3 code and the gamescom code are much better according to WENB. The 2nd demo next month should be the one who will make you decide if to buy it or not.

My impressions on a broken demo are however pleasing. The game has got back its indentity for me. Movement is now very fluid. AI are going to be rock with the harder difficulty superstar mode also.

First impressions:

Animations look dodgy in the CGI intro, not a good start.
Milan are rated higher than United, wtf.
San Siro looks good in-game though, I like the lighting effects. The player models are also far more lifelike than FIFA.

The gameplay is better than 2011 but it still feels so wallowy and slow. The button lag is pretty bad on FIFA but this is worse, just seems impossible to do anything with any snap. The ball also still feels like it's stuck under your player's feet and dribbling the ball is like its on a string, always popping the same distance in front of you.

The keeper/defence AI is poor too.

I don't think FIFA is perfect but I think it will still be better than this. :( Dammit, PES!

Just a demo.

People need to remember this code is extremely early. Keepers have already been fixed and sorted.

I didnt mind the PES demo but I simply wony play it more than once due to not being able to skip the stupid intro everytime!

Ive played this for about an hour so dont feel I can fully comment. Its really obvious its early code as it looks worse than last years demo by a distance.

All I can say is that I dont find it accessible at all compared to FIFA
