Age of Empires Online Released! Free to play

£60 for 6 months of content seems decent, I paid that much in battleforge, and £80 in DDO for all the content which lasted me over 2 years.

But I did give the game another go and I still didnt like it, so I wont be buying anything.
 
It's a good game but the buying stuff makes it abit broken, i just got a blue item from a quest reward and it says i got to have a premium account or whatever to use it..... :(

I Pre-ordered the Greek one from Play as I had a voucher with them... and it hasn't even been posted yet :(

My bags are quickly filling with premium goods I can't use. I've had to use the mail system to mail a lot of the resources and other items to myself in order to create bag space.

Hmm, not so sure about this game. The quests seemed alright at first but now they've just become tedious. I just want to play a skirmish against someone which doesn't seem possible, but I guess I should just play normal AoE for that!
 
I think this game is OK although I don't fancy paying the prices they are asking for their DLC. I've even gone back to the original Age of Empires for a few hours today and I haven't played that in years, even though I love the game. I'd love a remake of the first AoE, with The Rise of Rome expansion, using this game engine. I don't suppose it will ever happen however.
 
First off: FOR FREE you get access to multiple civilizations and their ENTIRE campaign - each civilization has 40+ hours of content. All FOR FREE. Plus, you get UNLIMITED PVP.

This is not what you guys are reporting from what I understand?

I used to love the AoE and AoM games, but never played them in campaign mode, only multiplayer.

Can this be played PvP for free then, or not?
 
can anyone logon? i just finished a quest, hit return to town and it got stuck on the same screen, so i had to endtask and relog but its saying servers down, even after a restart

Why? The core RTS element is AoE through and through. Also Gas Powered Games (of SupCom fame) took over and completed development from Robot.

Blame Microsoft if you're going to blame someone. They demolished Ensemble Studios, creators of the previous Age games. Robot Entertainment is made up of ex-ES employees.
