Battlefield 3 Servers 50% Off Pre-Order

I think you are all taking it too seriously.

It's a game server lol.

With all due respect you'd be the first to come crying if rouge admin kicks you from the server for doing nothing... and if i said "its just a game stop crying" you take the same attitude would you? Think not. Putting thing in place early stops people like your self from running and kicking off when something doesn't go your way, so no, it is taken seriously. Otherwise whats the point?

Just go scroll thro the BC2 thread and look at the abuse we got, it might only be a game server but when 100’s of people start having a go left right and centre its changes. Plus £64/month isn’t cheap!

EDIT: sorry when for the edit above post

Hey everyone. Havn't had my pc very long and this will be the first proper FPS that ive bought for it, so I would definitely be up for paying a share on a server - as long as it is fairly chilled and not super competitive (only really played FPS on consoles). I don't mind not having admin privileges, but I agree that you should kind of earn it. Someone nice and democratic would be good, last thing we need is another Gadaffi policing the server!

Well as I'd be contributing I imagine I would always have a place on the server.

Whenever I've been kicked for destroying some butthurt admin over and over I just move on to another server. I wouldn't complain as there's no point.

So yeah, it's just a game.

TBH you'd probably be better of playing on as many BF3 servers as possible provided by us or the other admins in the first instance, especialy if you're new to PC FPS games. That way it gives you an idea of what makes a good server and what rules need to be enforced before jumping into admin.

Give it a few months before you decide. As with the other servers provided by the kind folks of this community you're more than welcome to make one or more your home for PC gaming and BF3.

I'm happy to contribute £1/month to a server with dedicated and responsible admins (so not nM).

1. We're looking for paying members of equal share, so it would be whatever the server is per month / number of contributors. Payable upfront for what looks likely to be a 3 month trial period.

2. Until further notice the 14 or 15 we've got is enough + it sounds like you just need somewhere to play on a regular basis. I suggest visiting the servers once they are up and running and see which ones you want to make your home for Bf3 gaming.

We are in the process of taking a vote for it, KC is one of the options however, as not all GSPs have released their prices yet this vote is still work in progress - we'll decide nearer the time. If you want to register your interest, send me an email in trust and i'll invite you to the collaboration site we've got set up.

I will do when I get home.

Are we doing upfront payments as opposed to paying each month?

Looking at the prices the KC ones seem very fair, between 15 people it'd be £9.20 for 3 months of a server, or £33 each for a year. I could happily pay off £33 now.

I'll need you to send me your email addr in trust to get an invite, I would leave voting on that stuff until we have more information on pricing from the other GSPs.

And yes, as mentioned it would be an upfront payment to me so I can order the server. Not doing monthly payments. This will all come later when we know for sure prices and GSP etc. For now, registering your interest will suffice.

Sounds good! I'm not a complete pc noob, I used to be quite good at CSS back in the day, but I must say I have deteriorated as I haven't played since. I've got bad company 2 still in its wrapper, so I guess I can brush up on that for preparation. Looking forward to it, if you need numbers to pay for it just give me a shout!

Aye, if it's more than £2-3/month, I will have to consider it carefully as I don't really expect to play that much of BF3 and my funds are somehow limited.

But I am willing to contribute nonetheless so let's see what comes out of it.

I'm pretty sure there will be more people interested in running such a server and hope that it turns out to be 32/64 with regular attendants.

Failing that, I have high hopes for the official OcUK servers.

As I mentioned previously in the thread, with the 3 month plan, it comes out at just over £9 each, so just over £3 a month.

It depends what other providers come out I guess, need cheap, but also very good. Killer creations are some of my favorites to play on, and I'd much rather go on them than multiplay given the choice. i3d are about the same level.

List updated with some more possible contributers (link, steve and knubj), I think that is now enough to be going on with. Thanks for your interest so far on this, looks like we are getting good numbers and some good people to join the server group.

I still need emails from Tweaker, Knubj and MehUK. Email in trust and I'll set you up with an invite. I'm still waiting on published prices from a few GSPs, hopefully they will turn up sooner so we can look at who we host with.

So what's happening here? I understand Thegoon84 is without a doubt purchasing a server or two for BF:3, any others? Possibly servers without Rush?

I am so sticking with one this time around haha, last time we had 4 servers on the go which were full... i'd rather have one solid server and keep it at that haha!

It will only be conquest and have same rules as EDOM or what ever eSports match configs they set out.

looking forward to seeing how the comp side of this turns out might get a group together for a league or ladder .

4? I thought it was a mix server and SQDM, unless you dabbled in Vietnam? Well, either way, that's one server i'll be adding to my list then, just need a SQDM one now.
