Having re-read this thread and at the risk of getting slaughtered.....
I say the OP is the one selling it.
New forum user, was told it was a good card and that he could run it, and that it was a bargain even if borked yet started talking about getting another card (for considerably more pennies) straight after linking to the bay. BEFORE IT WAS NOTED AS A SCAM.
Just a thought....
So, who is the OP who started this thread, is he the person who is selling this on the bay. He said it was a female friend who is selling the card. I think he came here to advertise this scam but came to the wrong place as he was found out (it took us a while for someone to notice though). Why is this "lady" called Albert on the bay and look at the items "she" has bought recently, not the kind of stuff my gf would.buy, lol.
Friend ? I don't even know the woman ! Where did I state that I was her friend? I said I knew 'of' somebody not new them personally.
what ever the situation is its irrelevent, thanks for bringing this scam to our attention
I'll bet it was a lovely card to use.
yeah, his one has a PCB![]()

'If' you are trying to make fun of me, it's in bad taste.
? id only consider it "making fun of you" if you were the seller, many others along with yourself didnt notice on first look that it was just an empty box
Dear Sir/Madam,
Item number: 280730445301
I know this has been reported on a couple of occasions so I'm surprised to see the above item is still listed on your auction site.
It's abundantly clear that the seller is clearly trying to trick people into believing there selling something that they don't actually have which evident by the photographs used by the seller.
Firstly if this was really meant to be a 'radeon 5970' you should see a PCB (printed circuit board) board through the casing also there should be a metal bracket a front that hold the front of the card to back of the case. Secondly the seller even admits that there selling something that doesn't belong to them which is surely theft.
I'm going to check to see if this item is still listed tomorrow afternoon and if you've decided to leave open then I will report to my uncle who is the copy editor at the Evening Standard.

Well, TooCool if what you say is the truth i am sorry but if you look at your original post it certainly sounds like you know her. Think i would have posted -
just found this GPU on ebay....
Not, i know of someone who's boyfriend has left her and she has found a 5970 in a drawer. In a later post you say you don't want to rip her off by not giving her much money for the 5970, WHAT! Do you know how e-bay works? It's an auction!![]()
