****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

it's a pita imo. I cba re-configuring go launcher, handcent themes etc. I bet there's no noticeable difference between kf3 and kh3 anyway!

What is a pita? You don't have to reconfigure anything back because you just restore the app data back for thos apps either using Titanium, MyBackup or if the apps have restore features built into them (Handcent etc do as does GoLauncher).

Nandroid is not the only backup people should be making.

You should have a Nandroid backup AND a Titanium Backup.

No :( I've opened Samsung Apps, even installed something, but still not available as an account to add :(

Strange, that's how I added mine I think.

It should be in Accounts And Sync though.

Are you going to accounts via GMail? As that doesn't show all the accounts you can add. Going Settings>Accounts should let you add all the social network accounts, google accounts and Samsung accounts.

If it still isn't there have you installed/flashed anything that removes Samsung stuff? As on untouched VillainRom it should have more accounts that can be added :(.

Edit: This is what mine shows under Settings>Accounts and sync>Add Account:

mrk, it stands for pain the ass mate.

:p

so would titanium backup save my simple text icon within go launcher? ive got visions of doing a restore and having to put loads of things right, making the backup a waste of time and a royal pita!

Titanium should backup everything to do with the app, so for launchers that would be their layout, shortcuts etc., for games it saves game saves and what not :).

Just make a CWM Backup (you should always have one before flashing anything anyways) and a titanium backup of all user apps + system data (system data can be funny when switching between different ROMs sometimes, like stock to CM7 as they're stored differently, but flashing stock>stock it's fine).

Even if you find titanium didn't back everything up properly just restore CWM backup if you really cba redoing it :p.

So been using the Batista70 rom for a few days and although stable, the battery life is absolute crap.

Can anyone suggest a better rom?

If I got one of these on three, will it be stacked out with three's bloatware?

I like the look of three's all you can eat data package compared to t-mobile unlimited but with fair use. Nice cash back deals on at the moment as well.

VillianRom hasn't crashed once on me and gives me the best battery life I think I've had on any ROM.

**EDIT** Wow, and 12 seconds later it cycled the launcher as I tried to enter settings. Okay, but I'm sure that's the only time it's crashed.

So I was being a numpty. I forgot, months back I froze Samsung Accounts using Titanium Backup. My bad!

It will be interesting to see if it effects battery life.

:D.

Oh and I agree, VillainRom is definately worth looking at SiHH, I've had no crashes or anything and I have no problem with battery life using it with Ninphetamine :).

Just got my S2 yesterday, have been messing around getting everything as I want it but quick question regarding these custom ROM's, do they provide a big difference unless you are going to be fiddling about at really deep root settings.

A comparison of the different ROM's and how they look would be good.
