It's pretty crisp and in focus in the right place but I'm not so sure about the composition. I see the railing on the left and keep on wondering if it would have looked better with the bokeh on the right dominating the scene more than the railing that's in the same focal plane so is also in focus!

Here are 2 portraits I shot yesterday.

I'm uncertain as to if I like myself being in the reflection, not that it's myself in there but that I can't decide if it completes the photos by adding something or otherwise.

Is this any good for a portrait?

The more i'm looking at it the more i'm starting to like it.

On it's own it's weak but i can see it as a part of a set. Is this a friend of yours you are photographing or just a random? If this is a friend maybe get some supporting images and make a story out of it. Please make a set and put some captions with it.

My only critique would be i want more revealing things about the person present in the picture to reel me in more and question it. Maybe it not being cropped as much may help?

I very much like the temperature and editing of the picture. It's almost got a colour film quality about it which i like a lot. With regards to composition, i think it's good. Maybe darken the right hand top corner to keep the eye contact with the subject.

I really wish it was compulsory to put EXIF details in this thread. Some of the images are incredible and I'd love to know things like lens/iso/aperture/shutter etc

Install an exif plugin for chrome or Firefox so you can right click then view exif.

Simples!

I know what you mean, I'm thinking a longer lens would help/make it much easier to photoshop out.

Hey a nice set of images there! Pretty bride too

Shop out the reflection you mean? I think it would remain the same due to the reflection being at the same focal plane as the sunglass itself (the focus point) so regardless of focal length the reflection would always be in focus as the sunglass is in focus!

Unless I'm being crazy :p

What I'm suggesting, is that the further you are away from the subject, the smaller you will appear in his glasses, for a silly example to outline the concept, if your were using a 600mm lens you would appear in his lens, smaller than one of the cars in the background, which of course would take a simple dab of content aware fill to remove.

Oh the size of you/me i the glass, I get you know, I thought you were saying there would be bokeh applied to the reflection :p

In both our examples I think in the end the reflection adds something to the picture, without it it would look too surreal in a way, maybe feel like something was missing?

Now I would, but if I personally wasn't aware of this issue with mirror glasses, it probably wouldn't cross my mind if I was the viewer.
What's better or not is subjective, and may depend on the image in question.
