My sons DS3 - the P35C one has 4xDDR2 and 2xDDR3 RAM slots and it was the first board that I got, that took DDR3
Im sure you know just how sickening it was for me, to have just bought 8GB DDR2 for my Server ( why I dont know? - Its not even serving anything anymore since I got the NAS box ) and then to get that DS3 and find out it had DDR3 slots too!
Had I know that, I would have held off and used that board for myself!
So yeah, the prices etc are pushing us over but then my main PC now has 16GB and Id never have been able to do that on the others, but at the same time, lets be honest but for most users, 2GB is plenty and for gamers I doubt that you really need more than 4GB. I only have the 16GB purely as a show-off thing but in truth, even with running a handful of VMs I dont think I use anywhere near that much.
