Best SSD for under £70 (inc postage) ?

it was the original 60gb model bosds not decteced in bios after restarts the seoncd 1 did a hd tune check on it and it was full of bad blocks

Hopefuly the vertex 2 will be better :l

I havnt read many bad reports on it compared with thee verrtex 1 and the agility 3 etc

Take into account that the Crucial is the most reliable one out there at the moment. The OCZ ones use the Sandforce controller which is known for it's problems.

For the first time, we also integrate SSDs in this article type. The rates of failure recorded by manufacturer:

- Intel 0.59%
- Corsair 2.17%
- Crucial 2.25%
- Kingston 2.39%
- OCZ 2.93%

Intel stands here with a failure rate of the most flattering. Among the few models sold over 100 copies, displays a rate of no more than 5% VAS.

Copied this from a Quote in another thread, Intel are the only ones with virtually no failures. All the rest are as near as damn it the same ;)

Heheh, thanks that gives me some peace of mind :)

Also a quick question on the side since I see you have the motherboard which I just ordered.

Is the usb 3.0 front panel 3.5" or 5.25"? Or 3.5" with an adapter?

It's 3.5" with a mounting plate for 2.5" drives. I've got it installed in the floppy drive slot with my SSD mounted on it :D

It can be mounted at the rear, or you can get 5.25 to 3.5 adapters for some cases.

how can it be mounted at the rear?

also yeah i might grab one :) but i can only find expensive lian li ones, or cheap unbranded ones. nothing inbetween :(

and ocuk dont seem to stock any.

about the real ssd m4 64gb, it would cost me £86.99 because i do not get free postage yet.

also the £51 for the vertex 2, was including postage.

Comes with a rear fixing plate as well as the front mount. Ocuk sell some metal brackets that allow fitting a 2.5 drive in a 5.25 slot. Done this on a mates PC, but can't find the brackets on the site.

heheh thanks, but i meant one of these
