The specs of the xbox 360 are as follows:

3.2 GHz PowerPC Tri-Core Xenon
512 MB of GDDR3 RAM clocked at 700 MHz
500 MHz ATI Xenos

If you tried to run BF3 on that it would get laughed off your pc.

Stop quoting BS like it's fact, and actually wait until they release minimum/recommended specs.
 
I have a q9550 quad @3.8Ghz and a 5770 + 4GB ram. The alpha ran absolutely without hitch, I didn't check the frame rate.

I have heard people talk about 30fps input lag and once over 60fps its gone and this would tally with my experience in general. I can notice input lag even on the menu screen, but I mainly run without AA in newer games.

It would be nice to upgrade my graphics to run over 60fps with eye candy on. I remember some of the smoke explosions caused me slowdowns in BF:BC2 early on but either a setting or a driver update did the trick.

My old electronics lecturer would have a field day with you. Comparing dedidcated hardware to the general purpose PC is like apples and oranges. Relative values are ok but the specifications don't take into account the extra load on the PC. For example how much ram does it take to get to the desktop?

Dg is stating that "Xbox 360 spec is mimimum" when they are not comparable!

Well if anyone's still not pre-ordered... I managed to get a 20% discount from Origin using the live chat. First person flat out refused saying they don't give them (and only do discounts on birthdays/ holidays).

I asked to speak to someone else about the matter who was very apologetic and gave me a 20% code. Unfortunately, the code he gave me didn't work, so I paid through paypal and he refund £7.99 back... so £32.00 flat for me :D
 
Well 14 months on and I'm still gaming on my GTX480/i7 920 rig, really have seen no reason to upgrade as TBH there has been no single GPUs out worth upgrading to and no games that I can't run smoothly at quality IQ, kepler will be my next GPU purchase.

As for BF3, I'm looking for 50-60 fps average and 40 min in most intense moments, if that means dialing down some IQ then so be it, I'm not out there sight seeing, I'm out there for the win.
 
no it isnt lol trust me ;)

to run it at minimum the same spec pc will work but who would run it at minimum.

a tricore isnt slow in the xbox you know . also the card will be about the same

i dont get why people think its going to be like twice as hard to run its a tweaked medal of honour with vehicles basically :rolleyes:

its not crysis 3 or even close.

look at any game even crysis 2 and look at minimum

the minimum is about the same as a eggbox it has to run on that and they will of sorted that first way before the pc whether you believe that or not is your choice . how much sales will be gathered from xbox 360 compared to pc :rolleyes:. yes they said its pc blah blah blah but it will be basically same on xbox baring a few tweaks.

take bfbc2 for eg notice anything

thats basically xbox 360 . yes its bfbc2 but can you not see they have to include the thing that makes them the money so thegame has to run and work at that spec minimum. only difference this time is os and dx10 or 11 .

There is so much wrong with that Dg, grammatically it reads like a 5 year olds sprawl, but that's not the point.

You cannot compare the Xbox 360 specs to PC. It just doesn't work.

Also, check out the PS3 footage that was shown on that late night show, and compare that to the PC footage that was shown, then tell me that there is not a lot of a difference between the graphical fidelity between PC and console.

Where does this "they will have made it on Xbox first" crap come from? It has been known for some time that the PC is the lead platform and you can see that plain as day by comparing footage, this is not a cheap Xbox port.

An Xbox is essentially a 5-6 year old PC. If you tried to run BF3 on 6 year old PC hardware, disregarding the DX9/10/11 issue, it just would not run.

What I'm suggesting to you is that you not spout your "facts" and instead wait until some official word comes on minimum specs or until the beta comes out.

i don't understand how BF3 specs for xbox are similar to Minimum PC Specs. as they downgrade the quality so that it can run on xbox, so why compare minimum PC specs to an XBOX ?

~>Dg<~, all of your comparison are console ports, and the PC is the primary platform for BF:3, which means the PC get's some TLC. I know what you're trying to say, and i do agree with you in some parts, but it's best to wait and see.
 
i know some wont agree and it dont bother me one bit but its just some wont except that it will be built for console spec as min.

argue about pc ports all you want it has to run on that spec .

will it look as good obiously not but neither does bfbc2 does it.

a 250gts or even close as minimum lol .

they have to sell the game and in biggggg number thats all you need to remember. just cause some dice guy has sweetened up the pc community everyone is swallowing everything they say .

the lowest which is minimum lets not get it mixed up will be close to a console either xbox or ps3 in spec. like all games just cause it will run it at minimum doesnt mean it will look great or pay great this is why you have recommended which will be the most common mid range good card the nvidia 460 gtx ;) its not rocket science. cant wait for the beta now :D
