Second hand Sapphire 5970 (sold as seen and untested).

Nah, even if it was complete I couldn't use it. My new PSU isn't powerful enough. I'm gonna buy an ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II TOP with my birthday money next month. Unless someone wants to give me a better choice. A 6950 would intrude into my drive bays.

Get the Gigabyte/MSI or EVGA ersion of the card.

Thanks for the sensible advice, Kingy666. I will do. Anyone living in London know of any decent computer shops around the West End or Tottenham Court Road ?

We ca't name competitors - just buy from OcUK

Well, 10.02" sounds good to me. What XFX card was that ? My 8800 GTX in my computer is about 10" but I have less than an inch left before the card would intrude into my drive bay so 11" + is gonna be very tight. Asus's GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II TOP is a little bit smaller than my 8800. Cleeecooo, do you mean those makers versions of the 560 or the 6950 ? Sorry for asking about other places to shop.

Double checked its 10.2" rather than 10.02", still relatively short in comparison, and should fit your case fine given that you have an inch left on a 10" card. I believe the correct model number is something like XFX HD-695X-xNFC (x is variable, there are CNFC, ZNFC etc... just changes what display outputs are on each).

Im not sure OCUK still stock the 2gb models, though they do stock the 1gb XXX edition, which is also 10.2" long. 1gb might be a viable option depending on what resolution you intend to game at.

Here is the XFX spec page for all there current 6950's...

Thanks pgi947. That XXX 6950 was the other card I was looking at. At 1280x1024 max, the 1 GB is good. I will just be able to afford that. It's nice to know that both cards will fit. I will of course look at any other options suggested to me on here.

Well I can see the difference now, yes. I have never looked at pictures of that card before or seen it in the flesh either. I could never have afforded to look at such an expensive card. I like nice things if I can afford them but for the most part, a spade is just a spade to me. I can't afford to think any other way. I'm about 6'7" tall and weigh about 19 stone. I don't get many people taking me for a fool, so I can afford to take things at face value. Thinking negatively about life isn't very productive. Life is hard enough for us all as it is.

am abit confused here but i don't want to point a finger as well. you say in your first post quote:

Is it it worth buying it if it is cheap enough ?

and then you say that you never looked at any pictures of that card before or seen it in the fleash.then you say that you could never afford to look@ a expensive card.

but for some reason you looked @ e-bay and picked this card to buy.
but their are quite a few expensive graphic cards for sale even with a low start price that you could have bid on.

and to the size of height&weight etc wots that got to do with graphic cards
we all have our problems but we don't mention it on an pc forum. their are other forums for that

he/she claims to have sold the card and ended the auction, keep your eyes peeled incase it goes up again as i ended 'the other one' :p

yeah noticed they added a load of SOLD SOLD SOLD in the details before closing it.
Hope some poor muppet was not duped.

Maybe this thread can die now ?

i did send about 20 "report a item" this morning when i had a few mins to spare :)

the seller ended it not ebay, but thanks for trying.. they must have had well over 100 reports and did absolutely buggerall about it, wp ebay lol

EDIT: just thought.. its possable ebay asked them to sort out the advert after all the complaints rather than just closing it themselfs

Suspect it might possibly have been sold outside of ebay. :(

Wrote to him/her about getting pics with absolutely no response... no surprise there hey!

Then saw the 'SOLD SOLD SOLD' update and contacted them again saying I'd hoped it hadn't sold for any large amount due to looking like only a heatsink rather than full gpu...

I got the following polite response:

"well seeing as i didnt sell it to you, its not your problem is it you nosey bugger, mind your own business

- albertspages"

Seems like a very nice person - I'm sure it's all above board and he/she's not trying to dupe anyone.

Maybe you should read the whole thread chillidog and it might answer some of your questions. I just knew that that particular card was still a fast card as I had seen some benchmarks for it against other cards. I had the money to look at a card like that because I was gonna get a new card for my Birthday. Maybe you wanna look at my other finances as well or maybe you wanna know how much my family are giving me for my birthday or indeed how much they give me at any other time of the year ?

I'll admit I do find a lot of your posts appear quite contradictory and rather odd :p
