From what I heard, it's the seeders that get pwnd.

Therefore, I just take what I need and get the hell out.

I always try to seed after i've downloaded so i have a ratio of at least one, but limited bandwidth, time and the necessity to use the things i've just torrented (usually a Linux distro) probably mean that overall it's less than that

i generally upload up to 150% the file size, i torrent because its gets me the best speeds on what i download vs dedicated hosts

I normally check the number of other seeders and leechers, if there's less that 10 I'll keep it alive. If there's loads I'll stop it when completed.

I don't understand why people use newsgroups. Why pay for access to download stuff when you can get it for free?

I always share back a minimum of 10x what I download. I have an intel atom machine under the stairs that we use as a seedbox so it does not effect my machine and we have a stupidly fast connection so we don't even notice it.

Just checked my uTorrent stats and it's 1.8TB Uploaded and 652GB Downloaded.

I use both torrents and Usenet for downloads.

I guess the biggest reason is it's less traceable.

I don't really download much these days so it not really worth the money for usenet etc. If I dl from bt then I don't seed for long.

Aside from having a credit card payment to them and a log of you downloading hundreds of gigabytes from their server... I don't imagine there's anything more traceable.
