Nah steam is a good thing imo, more money and less distribution costs. Cheaper games which means they are more accessible.
PC gaming isn't dying. The market is only changing in the essence that more people are gaming and a majority of them happen to be casual gamers. More money is generated from these casual gamers that is all. Of course these will drive the mass of the market in a certain direction but it does not mean every other aspect will be dropped entirely. If that happens then all we will end up is farmville version 30 and angry birds space mars v 21 within the next few years.
Publishers and developers need to start treating casual games and AAA titles differently and not try to create something that does both. We can see that is what is happening with call of duty.
Games should be developed FOR ( I know they are developed on) the PC and then ported back to the console. I really do not understand why it is done the other way around.
