^ SO if one was to do that and disable VAC they would no longer be introuble of a VAC ban?

I want to do this as i hate Bloom effect whether it makes it look good or not!

But just had my quick and non scared game, very very fun and i do like that Near by Coop join system!
 
I must admit i've let you guys down, i'm using a 360 pad with analogue controls.

I might switch to K&M when I get a gun but I doubt it, the game wasn't designed for that :(
 
guns rock headshots are garunteed kills on humans and theres almost as many humans to kill as zombies in the jungle :D

BTW for anyone with crap computers i bought the game again so i cna play coop with my son rather than get it for his xbox like he was planning and the performance was pretty rubbish..

his laptop is only some dual core 2.4ghz intel cpu with a 5650 gpu , i edited the dat0.bak and turned off blur and SSAO and now his fps jumped from 24 - 47 !

aparently the SSAO is an fps killer on not so fast comps

Just got this info off steam forum, Hope this helps.

when coming to edit the file instead of putting it back in the Data0.pak just put the file into your settings folder (like this if your edit the fov, C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\DeadIsland\out\Data\skills\default_levels.xml, just use that same format for editing other files what are in other folders)

I am not sure if this gets around the VAC BS but it should since the files you modified are not in a folder that systems look but i have not clue about how there anti-cheating system works, If you don't want to get banned using the these tweaks just make a server that has VAC disabled.

Surely disabling Bloom and SSBO doesn't affect VAC?
 
Caved in and bought this last night.

Left it downloading whilst im in work so really looking forward to giving it a go when I get home.

Any tips or changes to make before I start?

Suitcases search them! Also Check in ever single door so many times have i seen people go past them and miss out on Upgrade parts and other things. Also keep and eye on health :P

Does anyone want to do Coop in an hour or so?
 
Anyone find that controlling the character using the keyboard feels a bit sluggish unless you are sprinting? Might have to give the xbox controller a go!

Occasionally, my character gets stuck and in order to move right or left, I have to move forward/backward first.

Not the smoothest of releases ever but they seem as though they are in it for the long haul so we shall see.

Think you might be a bit disappointed, even on the newest fastest macbook pro's they only have mobile 6750, which is midrange for laptops.

ive soloed most of it and i find it better tbh no loot sharing , all the weapons that drop are yours if you want them :P

i have played it online with randoms and on lane with my son though and its often harder in a group because if someone is a lot higher level so are the enemies
 
Crossfire doesnt work? i have tried that radeon pro method which forces crossfire and it then works but crashes and also readon pro is an awful piece of software anyway so is dual card support not built into this?
 
I get given the first quest, "Passport to life". It says press LMB to accept but pressing LMB does nothing :(

Edit:

Reset key bindings, Yes is now D which works.
