Benefits cut warning over truancy

Personally I don't think it would be a good move. It says a bit about:

If these fines remain unpaid for a further 42 days, a prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000 can follow

So more people are going to be prosecuted or fined, and simply how can people afford these fines when the benefits are been cut. It's a circle of problems.

Hilarious really, kids who don't want to go to school can't be forced. Kids who don't like their parents or whatever will keep bunking off and love every minute of it until they are put in to care.

Its probably going to get people's kids taken off them and more kids will go in to care and criminalised.

The same way people can afford to pay other court ordered fines. £1 a week if they so desire.

This is a stupid way to pay a fine I think.

I agree.

So what about the people who dont claim benefits? This is a crap idea tbh just the idiot torries crapping on the poorer people again.

This is spot on. Also will end up kids starving and crime will go thro the roof as people try to get money to feed the kids ect. I spent the ages of 13-15 truanting nothing on this planet would have stopped me doing it tbh.

Quite apart from the assumption that truanting kids have parents on benefits it just seems stupid, unlikely to work and not really addressing the underlying problems.

That's just stupid, they seriously need to stop blaming the parents if their kids don't go to school. I remember "skiving" all the time and that was because of being bullied and social anxiety.

The government overlook things, they actually probably don't care.

Sadly the government we have is nothing but a bunch of silverspoon fed idiots with no life experience and believe that everyone who claims any sort of benefits is scum. They are ruining this country atm with cuts left right and center just so they can make the richer richer and the poorer poorer.

Granted Labor are no better with over spending but at least they took everyone into account when they did things. Personally If i had a choice I would say the government needs a huge reform as atm no1 seems to be doing any good. Sadly I know this wont happen without some sort of civil war so labor are getting my vote next time (lesser of 2 evils in my eyes).

@nuttyprot I agree with you there. The government is probably putting more money into their pockets and not even reducing debt. Just saying things to the public so they work harder! They have scared everyone.

What the world needs is a fairer living without corruption. I see it every day.

For example
The place where I work a vice principal of the company asked me to look at his new macbook air, I agreed and to my eyes I say gay porn in his history and was even in his fav sites. I told someone about it who I work with (team member) and I no now that he is gay and this is why they promote gay and lesbian rights to protect these people! Corruption or what! if you ask me! I can't go into more but all I can say is I have took screen shots and saved his email requests for future reference as this is uncalled for especially how he spoke to me as if I was a piece of dog crap. How dare he!!!!

I was a pretty much absent in 4th and 5th form (yeah, I'm old). My dad was not on benefits, and pretty much pulled his hair out trying to get me to go. At that time, they had no comprehension of what ADHD was, or that I was bored senseless with most lessons. I would say the majority of Truants parents have nothing whatsoever to do with the benefits system. Most of the people I ended up bunking off with were decidedly middle class.

yes they can, the parents take them to school like you would a primary school child.

they're on benefits it's not like they've got anything else to do.
