Finally thought about pre-ordering and wanted the fancy bonuses from Origin.
So got the 20% discount code from the second attempt on the live chat from a bloke called Christopher R who was actually very helpfull as I also needed a second account closed.

Though the code I have doesn't seem work. No error messages of any sort unlike codes that have been used before. Any ideas anyone?

But yeah feeling kinda hyped for the release.

I've just spent over 2hrs with EA Support. I got 2 codes that didn't work. Turns out the codes they give you are not valid for pre-orders. Keep pushing for the discount and you will get it. I just paid by Paypal and got a refund.........although initially it wasn't 20% :mad::confused::eek::o

EA Support Guy: Please give me a moment while I check your account information.
EA Support Guy: Thanks for waiting
EA Support Guy: I have provided you 20 % refund that is GBP 4 .00 .
Me: Could you check your calculation please?
Me: I disagree that 20% of £39.99 is £4
EA Support Guy: I have provided you that much .
EA Support Guy: I have also mentioned 4 .00 .
Me: So you have refunded 20% and a further £4?
Me: I do not follow
EA Support Guy: That much is refunded to you £4
Me: If that is the case you have not refunded me 20%
Me: Could you tell me what 20% of £40 is?
EA Support Guy: £4
Me: That's not correct EA Support Guy
EA Support Guy: Why you asked this question ?
Me: Because I know what 20% for £40 is
Me: and its not £4
Me: do you have a calculator there?
EA Support Guy: Then how much it is let me know .
Me: On your calculator do the following:
Me: 40 x 0.20
EA Support Guy: Its 8
Me: :-)
EA Support Guy: You have got the right amount refunded

I was given the wrong code first time i tried, i just emailed them and explained that i had been given a code by a chat guy and that it didn't work and i was very disappointed.

Next day i had a code emailed to me :)
 
For those of you trying to get 20% discount via EA live support:

There are two type of codes which can be given to you by EA live support. For example


6T4GBN9E

or

BI269-UP765-VH750 (20% discount code)


You need the 2nd code with 15 alpha-numeric characters for it to work on origin uk.

I was given the first code which I tried but didn't work. So I again asked them for code with 15 characters and that was the one that worked

Codes aren't valid, I've just tried asking for a discount on the support chat and the person who I was speaking to was very blunt about giving out discounts. I'm guessing they're getting a lot of this recently

Were you given the 2nd longer code to try?

I guess someone up in the senior position got the wind of this.


Edit: I see you didn't get the code. Obviously they have the discount codes but as you said they aren't giving out. May be try different staff member.
