The gangsters that really govern US.

So if I understand this (haven't watched the video for obvious reasons) your complaining that a company doesn't want to invest in a product which could severely reduce it's sales and therefore profit?

Would it even "severely" reduce their profits. I'd be interested to know just how much petrol and diesel we use in transport in comparison to other uses of oil. That added to the increase in MPG, which would probably never be that much in reality...

So a global conspiracy to hide technology that will reduce their profits by small amount... Now we need to forget about the money they would make from patents etc as well...

Yup, in fact in the case of the water powered car that Shell supposedly snapped up. I would say it would make more sense for Shell to actually develop it and license it out to manufacturers. Make a shed load from, and in turn reduce the profits of their competitors, giving them more to invest and eventually monopolise the market.

But hey, thats not a conspiracy theory now is it.

Problem is, any company would need to patent the idea to stop others also developing the same idea, and patents are both freely publically available and only a temporary protection.

I think the biggest problem is that the allegedly world-changing inventions allegedly suppressed by alleged oil industry conspiracy don't work or don't even exist.

I wouldn't be surprised if there are some minor improvements that are being witheld for a time for business reasons, but most of the claims are way out there.

Summary -

They have the technology to get silly mpg but have no interest in bringing it to market.

While i am sure it is true to a certain extent, the film makers obviously put a lot of spin on the subject.

Considering the number of car manufactuers 50 years ago, i would be suprised if one didn't bring it to market, not forgetting the home brew tech people have been working on across the world.

We have had cars that will do 60mpg for 10 years but nobody cared enough until the prices went up 50% in a few years.

Take these 60mpg oil burners, stick on an overdrive etc and 75mpg would be possible, at the expense of any kind of pleasure.

Back in the 60's, it was reported that someone had developed a fuel system that would return up to 90 mpg on a Citroen DS19 which was quite a big car back then while even many smaller cars returned little better than mid-30's mpg at that time.

Apparently the oil companies quietly bought up the patents and it disappeared from the market.
Whether this was true is questionable but it would make financial sense given how much the oil companies would have lost in revenue and profits if the frugal fuel system was commonly addopted by most manufacturers.

I get around 19-22mpg combined and it sucks...but I make power. Power is what a lot of people care about.

Man, they are freaken evil.

in that case, why have car manufactures and governments supported electric cars. Why are there government grants in the millions for infrastructure and why have we agreed to be of fossil fuels almost entirely by 2050.
Seems these evil people if that is there plan, are pretty rubbish and achieving their goals.

Also I'm to rubbish to even think what maths is needed, but I very much doubt a gallon of petrol (130MJ) even has another energy to do 1000miles at 100% efficiency. Let alone the ~30% we achieve. Air resistance, tyre resistance is massive and of course the actual weight to accelerate.

1: Because we'll run out of fossil fuels. There is no other reason. And the earlier they adopt, the more car manufacturers can milk the market. It's got sod all to do with saving the environment for them. Plus the tax breaks for going green are beneficial.

2: Because the green agenda is a popular moral stance at the moment which means vote winning. It also reduces our reliance on what fuel is left, from abroad.

I've seen it reported that a London bus took a wrong turning and accidentally ended up at the north pole. I've seen it reported that world leaders are aliens. I've seen a lot of things reported that are rather unlikely to be true.

It doesn't make financial sense because why would anyone who invented such a thing quietly sell it to be buried? They could become richer and lauded around the world by licensing it.

It also doesn't make practical sense - the actual burning of fuel in an ICE is done quite efficiently. It can't be burnt three times as efficiently, so the claim is that additional energy is being acquired from...something. Without, of course, any explanation or evidence.

yes but according to this conspiracy oil companies control the world.

So they either suck or are shooting themselves in the foot.

I have a question for the CTs: what are the US military waiting for? If there was a sure-fire way of massively improving engine efficiency they would have snapped it up and installed it, no matter who owned any patents.

OMG big business running the country shocker...

Just be glad they do as would you really want the inept idiots we call MPs to be running the country?

It doesn't Matter why, it goes against the oil conspiracy Theorys.
Apparently oil companies buy all the patents to super batteries/electric car companies and will never allow electric cars on the Market.
