US Open Tennis, August 29th - September 11th

Gutted that Fed lost, watched till the deciding set at my uncles place but had to leave as i had work this morning. Djokovic is looking very good and i wouldnt mind seeing him beat Nadal as i just cannot stand him for some odd reason, much like Murray funnily enough.

That Caroline girl whose number 1 is absolute rubbish, shes supposedly banging the irish golfer...whats his name?? Rory something. But looks like the she man that is Williams will probably win the womens US open final.
 
I am not quite ready to say Federer will never win a slam again but yesterday won't do him any good. Two match points and he blew it again. Like someone else said, for the first two sets it was like watching the Federer of 3 years ago. But after that he looked vunerable.

I just don't like Djokovic at all. Can't stand his cross-eyed face and the 315 bounces of the ball before every serve.

Nadal and Murray was a good match. Nadal is just too good.. some of the shots he is able to hit, especially on the run, are just too good. Once a rally starts that Nadal is involved in, there is only gonna be one winner. He looks in top form and I think he's going to win the tournament.

Never used to like Murray but he's grown in me a lot in the last year or so. He's a quality player, and his rants at himself during games amuses me.. although that's a big part of his problem too. I think he'll win a slam or two, but not Wimbledon.

To be honest, I thought it was Serena's for the taking in her path to the final (not seen any of Sam's matches) :o

Djokovic is the best, by a fair margin.
I think he has only lost 1 match in almost 60. This sort of win record is almost unprecedented.

Had Federer played Nadal in the final, I think Nadal would've won in straight sets, but now that Djokovic is playing Nadal, I think Nadal will lose.

Djokovic - too good.

That's funny.

Wosniaki is the World No.1. She does win more games than any other female tennis player. Her problem is that she doesn't seem to play too well in Grand Slams, which is where you have to raise your game.

Tomorrow's final should be fantastic: the 2 best players shall battle it out...exactly what we want to see in a final (though the Fed vs Djo semi final was pretty special).

Who do we think is going to win?

My money's on Djokovic. Nadal is arguably one of the best players of all time and will perhaps go on to surpass Federers achievements, but Djokovic, in 2011, is just about the best I have ever seen. The guy is like a machine. Physically and mentally, he is just about as good as it can possibly get.

In 2011, Federer is the only man to offer any resistance to Djokovic. No other player, including Nadal, has resisted Djokovic this year.
