I hope not, I was boiling milk earlier and it caught on the bottom of the pan.

Why?

Are you American? Do you know someone who was killed in the attack?

I'm a British-American and I'm not offended by a bunch of fools looking for a reaction to their idiocy. Let them protest, let them burn what they like, who cares what they think or what they do.

Just ignore them, they'll go away soon enough as long as we quit legitimising them by paying attention and given them media air time.

Well aside from making this thread and admittedly a rather knee jerk initial reaction I am going to ignore it.

It's still disgusting tho and I'm actual a little fearful for Muslim communities as to what the general public's reaction might be.

7/7 nothings happened so whats gonna happen now?

yeah but it was burnt some years back and the title of this thread is us flag burnt not uk flag.

people have better things to do then grab pitchforks cus of a few nobs.

Yeah just to clear things up im not against protesters or muslims. But anyone burning a US flag shouting that US are terrorists etc.., when people are paying tribute to those innocent that died, its pathetic.

Sure, but they may be protesting about the innocents that have died that they blame the US for..?

I dunno, I don't have the answers, but getting hot under the collar cos somebody set fire to some funky painted linen is not one of them.

It's such a difficult subject isn't it? One thing that I don't understand is that the media seems to place a value on a western life above that of a non-western life. I don't like that.

Person A attacks Person B, Person B retaliates massively, Person A retaliates as best they can.

It's a big circle that just results in pain & suffering for all those involved.

Just to reiterate what I said above, I don't have the answers (or any in fact), other than to wonder if there's a better way.

Where would the world be for example if the US went a little more insular and didn't hit out at Iraq & Afghanistan? Would we be in a worse place than we are now? Maybe, maybe not.

Probably not.

We have only bred more violence and more reasons for them to attack, how anyone could say otherwise, id never understand.

Haven't you heard, the world is a safer place.

Ha - thanks :D

Glad I'm not that only one who thinks so.

When you talk about such things it's sometimes difficult to relate to. I mean you hear of a mom, dad & child killed in a car crash - well you can *feel* some empathy with those left behind, and some sympathy for those taken.

You start talking *thousands* of people and it is massively hard to relate to.

I saw that rabble of scum on the news screaming 'bang bang America'. they should have been nicked at that point for Public Order offence, actions liable blah blah.

The figures speak for themselves, I think this is the third time I have mentioned it on here that it's around 62% of British Muslims believe that free speech should be limited to stop the criticism of religion and 50% believe that their wife should obey their orders. Why do we want these kind of people in our society? We are not talking about a minority of Muslims have these opinions, it's a majority.

I think you will find that if asked similar figures could be expected of our society in general regardless of ethnic or religious background.

If you take what the tabloids pertain to be the average man on the street, they want capital punishment bought back, a third of men believe that a woman's place is at home and they should obey their husbands, and lets not even mention what they say about ethnic minorities, or any number of other thinks including free speech, benefits, policing and so on. This very thread has the premise that we should limit, imprison and deport people for expressing their freedom of speech so it is hardly exclusive to Muslims....

Time and again we have these so called polls bought up and time and again it is shown that they are generally inaccurate or relating to very specific or small demographics.

I am sure the incident has been recorded so if any action needs to be taken it can be, off camera of course. ;)

The only thing as an American In that story that offends me is while People have the freedom to do such a thing, why dont other folks have the right to protest and stop such actions?. if someones ass needs kicking than it should be kicked..
